LOL.

I actually voted on that poll. I picked Sapp as MVP. He took 97 shots in round one and 53 in round three. No one took as much of an ass kicking without losing in the history of the sport.

I voted the Sapp x LeBanner fight as best bout. It went the distance but there was no evidence at any point throughout the match that it would. Like Ice-dancing and synchronized swimming, who cares that there wasn't a winner.

LOL! Thats the funniest post I have read in a while. You actually counted the punches?! I voted the Sapp x Lebanner fight as the best bout too but picked Musashi as the MVP. Look at Musashi in the rankings tho; shows how much I align with popular vote.

yes. i count punches.

i wish i had a top tem list of the most strikes thrown in a fight. everyone likes to ask about the best fights ever. i'd like to whip out a list like that. might be easier to find the biggest stinkers though. #1 Bernardo x Filho II.

As for O'Haire, it must be the "This poll sucks" vote. You know when you are asked to be the judge at a highschool beauty contest and all the girls are ugly, you start voting for the ugliest. As a sign of gratitude, they leave you alone the following year. Sadly, my local highschool couldn't get the hint. They thought I had a sense of inner beauty or something fluffy. Living in Japan now where ladies shoes make a light clicking sound and floorboards don't screech.

Or perhaps, considering Musashi`s position....a lot of people appreciated the fact that to the unexperienced fan, O'Haire atleast looked like he was seriously hurting Musashi......and scored the haters vote...lol

Whoa... Musashi's so low on both! Poor guy. I definitely agree with Masato and KID winning best match and KID and Sefo winning MVP.

And I think Masato's an idiot for thinking he can beat Buakaw after his performance against KID.

You're probably right. Online polls aren't the most accurate thing in the world.

A few years ago, Time magazine ran an internet poll to find out who was 'The Greatest Man of the 20th Century' - the top 5 finishers, I forget the order except for the winner, were:

1. Ric Flair - he definitely won
The other 4 were:
Jesus Christ
Raven
Adolf Hitler
Kemal Ataturk

ric flair I don't even know him . Who is he?

It reminds me of some crisp brand here in the Netherlands. They wanted the public to vote for a new name for their new Dorito flavour. An infamous Dutch weblog called 'geen stijl' (literally translated it means no style but it is a Dutch way of putting it when someone is behaving anti social) dropped itself on it and had all their members (there are a lot of 'm) vote for 'Geen stijl' as a new name. They won the contests hands down but the company was reluctant to call their flavour after a weblog that some politicians even wanted to be banned. They tried to influence the poll but geen stijl found out about it and were making the whole thing public so they had to call it 'geen stijl'. You can buy your 'geen stijl' Dorito's at almost any supermaket these days .

Flair is an American pro wrestler, as is Raven. Ataturk founded the modern state of Turkey, Jesus didn't even live in the 20th century and Hitler was, I believe, a bit of a rogue.

Looks like the poll got hijacked by pro wrestling fans, Turkish nationalists, religious nuts and neo-Nazis. Or more likely, just a bunch of troublemakers.

At least Time still ran their article on the poll, though it was mainly based on how fucked up the internet is.

And I really want some Geen Stijl Dorito's now as well. What do they taste like?

lol ok, I was already wondering if my education fell short somewhere but pro-wrestling is not my biggest hobby

On the dorito's. I don't know . Call me conservative but I like natural/salted potatoe chips best . Perhaps you should take a look when you are in teh Netherlands, be quick though cuz loads of new flavours die an early death, My best guess is that loads of people are as conservative as I am in choosing their crisps

That's odd. At least Frans Bauer is known worldwide.

I might just do that. Some of my friends keep going on about having a holiday in Amsterdam this year. Not sure I can afford but if I do make it I promise to go to every supermarket and start shouting 'Geen Stijl' at the staff. LOL

LESNAR IN TALKS WITH K-1 AND PRIDE

Former WWE superstar Brock Lesnar announced to the Japanese media that he is interested in negotiations with K-1 and DSE/PRIDE.

Lesnar is currently in Japan to watch the New Japan tomorrow night at the Tokyo Dome.

Actually you know, for the MVP voting, I can pretty much see it as half way accurate.

I mean the Japan crowd likes comebacks and under-dogs....win or lose trying hard is what counts, as is being exciting.

LOL. You'd better get used to it since it's going to keep happening.

And while I'd usually disagree with the "stupid wrestler" comment I won't when it's applied to Lesnar. He's guy's as dumb as a box of rocks.

But I wouldn't worry too much. Lesnar has a no-compete clause on his WWE contract which means he can't do anything for a while. I very much doubt we'll see him fighting any time soon. Inoki is really trying to get him into New Japan first and foremost.
