Default K-1 Rising FINAL16 in TOKYO [October 14th, 2012] Speculation Thread

So far we have the following names:

- Mirko CroCop
- Daniel Ghita (not a done deal yet)
- Badr Hari (legal issues)

Eduard Irimia said the following fighters will probably participate:

- Catalin Morosanu
- Raul Catinas

Since we don't have any definitive answers yet, let's go with the above names for a moment.

This leaves 11 spots to be filled.

Keeping in mind that some of these spots (4?) will go to participants from the L.A. GP, how would you fill out these 11 spots?

Looks like Badr's gonna get locked up.

I can imagine some of the names not making the card, but the event being cancelled? I don't know, maybe it's the trauma of that exact thing happening last year, but for now I'm positive the event will take place.

Also Kemayo isn't that bad, Manhoef is always fun to watch and so on.

Hell they could give Benny a chance, after all he beat Brestovac who isn't a bad fighter at all. There are also other way better known fighters that I left out simply because I don't know their contract situations ( JLB comes to mind) .
Half of those guys are It's Showtime guys. Braddock was gonna fight in the Final 16 but now he signed with Glory, and I'd assume it's/will be the same for a bunch of other It's Showtime guys.

It was on Twitter a few days ago. He said something like he's probably send them in as SuperKombat representatives.

Because they're with Glory as management now and Glory does not want guys to fight for K-1. May not happen to absolutely all of them but I believe it will for most of them.

i dont understand this concept of management being transferred over, i know that glory has absorbed the its showtime promotion but surely management deals are a seperate thing from promotional ones, if not im pretty sure they are not legal under e.u law

So if I'm correct, we get 4 additional Final 16 participants from the L.A. GP, meaning we will probably end up with something like:

- Mo
- Blake
- Vigney
- TBA Participant

Call me crazy, but I have way more faith in TBA then Lopez, Petruzelli and Cooper put together.
TBA is a killer!

Meaning we have 7 spots left. I think there are lots of decent/good fighters who could get a spot:

- Kyotaro
- Verhoeven
- Lascenko
- Spong
- Roche
- Londt
- Slowinski
- Manhoef
- Ignashov
- Edwards
- Quarteron
- Zhuravlev
- Kemayo
- Jaideep
- Teixeira
- Rozenstruik
- Douwes
- van Thielen
- Bajrami
- Choi
- Ngalani

It's a bit similar to Tong Po's list, but I extended it a bit. I'm trying not to snatch too many guys from the SuperKombat list as they have their end of the year tournaments as well. Normally I'd say some of the above names don't deserve a chance, but since Glory snatched a lot of fighters it's okay. I don't think a lot of the above fighters are IS/Glory and I'm probably forgetting some guys, but it shouldn't be a problem to create a really solid Final 16 event with a selection of the above names.

I hope Doug takes a serious look at this list.

Well, about 3(?) months ago Manhoef mentioned in a video that he just signed a contract with K-1. I'm not sure if It's Showtime acted as a buffer inbetween, but it's very possible that Manhoef signed directly with K-1 and is available if he's in shape after his shin injury he sustained in One FC has healed up.

Well, formally Karaev is still with Glory as well. Last thing I heard was his management was trying to get him out of that contract so he can fight for K-1, but nothing's final at this point. He might end up in Glory...

Lascenko and Kyshenko should both be in K-1. Teixeira took some time off to fight in Kyokushin, I see him possibly returning to K-1.

Kyshenko and Lascenko are probably in K-1 because of their manager Donatas Simanaitis. Glory said they were pursuing Teixeira earlier in the year but who knows with him, he's been really quiet and is fighting MMA in a week.

Training session of CroCop preparing for Final 16 at Core Gym.

That's some tough ass training! Honestly, I think Mirko looks pretty good.

It's Showtime also had a management division with Simon working as the manager. As part of the purchase, this division was also absorbed into GLORY, I assume into the Golden Glory branch.
