The only fight I'm really pumped for is Lawler/Manhoef. It'll be interesting to see how Herschel does in his debut, but that's just the freakshow curiosity side of me coming out.
Main Card (On Showtime): Nick Diaz vs. Marius Zaromskis Cris "Cyborg" Santos vs. Marloes Coenen Robbie Lawler vs. Melvin Manhoef Herschel Walker vs. Greg Nagy Bobby Lashley vs. TBA Preliminary Card (Non-Televised): Jay Hieron vs. Joe Riggs (this fight will be streamed live on EASports.com) Sabah Homasi vs. John Kelly Pablo Alfonso vs. Marcos Da Matta Craig Oxley (0-2) vs. David Gomez Michael Byrnes vs. David Zitnik Hayder Hassan vs. Ryan Keenan |

Lashley is fighting Wes Sims, and assuming he pounds out Sims.

You're not pumped for Diaz-Marius? I'm insanely pumped for that.

Oddly I'm not. I'm a fan of Diaz and everything I've seen of Marius (although admittedly isn't a whole lot besides his last two fights) is promising so on paper I would think I'd be pumped. But I'm just not. Call it a weird premonition I'm having. Hopefully I'm wrong and the fight is as good in reality as it is on paper.

I really hope its an awesome fight (diaz - marius) ... it has potential to be so great. But it could just end up being kinda boring too I guess.

and they usually do! ive got to be at least close when i say that strikeforce ends the show before the timeslot ends almost each and every time. and im pleased with the fights ive gotten to see. but they can fit one more in there without any issue imo.

Really? Didn't the first Strikeforce show on CBS featuring Fedor run way over time? But you're right, the main card's bouts don't seem likely to go the distance.

And it really only ran over because Shields/Miller went the full 5 rounds. But due to the running over a pair of fighters didn't even get to fight which I thought really sucked for them.

^ so someone missed out on fighting because Shields can't do anything but takedowns and hug-outs (as opposed to knock-outs)?

Something like that...I can't really remember exactly what happened though. If Newman reads this thread I'm sure he can give you all the details or correct me if I'm wrong, lol.

Yeah, I know one of the guys who had his fight cancelled was Mark Miller who was on TUF 9, but I forget who his opponent was. There was a bit of a furuore (if thats how you spell it) over the whole situation as those guys didn't get paid then, whereas in the past when fights got cancelled due to lack of time (Justin Levens vs. Ray Lizama springs to mind from the first Affliction show as I was furious that Justin didn't get to fight!) both guys got paid their full purse.
I don't get it though, why not just let them fight with the cameras off and stuff?
