From his interview for NovaTV broadcasted just minutes ago:
"Winners of two HW fights scheduled for Dream.6 will fight for Dream HW title. Those fighter will be: myself and most probably S.Kharitonov".

Sounds decent. That's important for the promotion i guess. I'm rooting for CC to win the belt.

I am curious to see who wins these fights and by that I mean who wins the Alister/Mirko fight. Mirko is awesome, but he has fought a lot in his life and he could be headed for the end. No matter what he had a good career and he is apart of the most important heavyweight fight in MMA history. In fact I would say it was the most important fight in MMA history. There has been no fight that in my memory that had me as excited as the prospect of Mirko/Fedor. Mirko had a great career and he is known as the greatest Heavyweight striker ever. A win over Overeem doesn't enhance or diminish his career.

A win won't diminish anything, but a loss certainly would.

I saw that interview again. Actually, Mirko just confirmed that winners of these two fight will fight each other on NYE, and the reporter mentioned HW title, not Mirko.
But still, I don't think a reporter would say something like that without asking Mirko first. So, I guess this will be a title fight, even if confirmation didn't come directly from Mirko's mouth.

If he ends up winning the title, what will happen with him and the UFC? I thought the UFC let him fight in DREAM, where he signed a 3-fight deal. Beating Alistair and fighting whoever wins in the Sergei-Mo fight would make it 3 fights... I'm quite sure he stressed his desire to go back to the UFC many times before.

He said that every option is possible at this moment. Besides UFC doesn't need him at the moment, they need to resolve the mess they have at HW division, with two champs and two challengers. He still trains is the cage, but my bet would be: he will fight in Dream few more times. It is a pure speculation, but that seems logical at the moment.

I wonder what shape Kharitonov is in. Haven't seen his fight with Overeem but he was horrible in Pride 33.

I don´t think a first round win by armbar at 3;30 something qualifies for horrible. Eventhough he hasn´t looked "crisp" the last couple of fights - he still has some of the heaviest hands in MMA and is really good on the ground. If he can get his conditioning up to the same level as it was against Nog, he will tsunami Mo and probably also Crocop/Overeem in the final. And he really shouldn´t have lost against Overeem 1 (shoulder dislocation or something) or A. Emelianenko (the silly taunting). He has to stop wasting his talent. He´s born 1980 so he should have some good 5-8 years left. |

Horrible was a slight exaggeration but he did look clumsy and uninspired, but he does have a potential to be excellent. |

I'm so glad I'll be able to see Kharitonov on a more regular basis. My only worry is that he tends to get hit a lot in his fights which isn't good when going against someone like Mo. |

Jimmy fucking Ambriz? That's weak.
They announced in the press conference yesterday that Mo was injured and out, and Sasahara also said that there will be a "surprise" announcement today. I don't think Ambriz qualifies as any sort of "surprise," so I assume it will be something related to Fedor or NYE or Akiyama or Korean show or such (I really don't have too good an idea about their "surprise" this time). Bah, I was actually looking forward to Sergei vs Mo because I assumed Sergei would be too stubborn to get the early takedown and sub win.
