This poll is NOT who you HOPEwill win it, but from those fighting on the day, who do you believe will win it??

For those wanting to vote who they HOPE will win it, go here! (http://forum.kakutougi.info/showthread.php?t=98)

The fighters listed in the poll are obvious, the "Other" option on the bottom refers to;

Jerome Le Banner,
Hiromi Amada,
Cyril Abidi,
Gary Goodridge, or if a fighter is replaced at the last minute somehow.

I still believe Ray Sefo has the highest chance in winning the GP this year. I just can't see either Bonjasky, Aerts or Hoost coming out for the final match in good conditions, with such a stiff competition, while in my eyes, the biggest problem for Ray is an improved and motivated Musashi that has high chances of winning the decision, if they can't manage a KO... I sincerely don't think Mo or Koaklai can put Sefo away, he's just too good and skillful. So there, unless something bad happens to him (injury), the most logical answer seems to be Ray Sefo.

I have to agree. I have a feeling this could well be Rays year.

I don't know if this post belong in this thread but it felt unnecessary to open a new thread when this is a prediction thread for the WGP..

well here is my pics for the 4th of december

Quarterfinals

Kaoklai Kaennorsing vs Mighty Mo
Winner: Mighty Mo
Method:KO
Round:3

I suppose that Kaoklai will use the stick-and-move strategy for this fight, it worked for Dewey Cooper in his fight against Mo so I think it'll be a smart choice of strategy. I think this fight will look a lot like the Cooper/Mo fight until Mo finally catches up with Kaoklai in the third round and drops him, maybe countering a low kick with an overhand right. It is possible that Kaoklai survives all three rounds and if that's the case I think K-1 will reward Mo with the descision for pressing the fight the most.

Ray Sefo vs Mushasi
Winner: Ray Sefo
Method: TKO
Round: 2

All reports points to that Sefo is in great shape so I expect him to come in hungry for revenge in this fight. Mushasi will keep the guard tight and use a lot of middle kicks and low kicks but sefo will overwhelm him in the second round winning by the three knockdowns and you're out rule. I can't see Mushasi beating a healthy Sefo.

Peter Aerts vs Francois Botha
Winner: Peter Aerts
Method:JD
Round:3

Aerts won't make the same mistake that Le Banner did against Botha and turn this into a boxing match. Aerts is the best legkicker that Botha will face in K-1 this far and I think that will take it's toll on Botha's tigh. Aerts will probably win a comfortable decision by keeping his distance and pepper Botha with lowkicks and middlekicks but not be able to finish him.

Remy Bonjasky vs Ernesto Hoost
Winner:Ernesto Hoost
Method:JD
Round:3

Hoost greatest quality as a fighters is his abilty to control the pace of a fight and shutting down his opponents offence and I'll think he will manage to impose this strategy on Bonjasky winning a decision. This is a tough fight to predict as Remy is just as likely to win if he manage to press the action the entire fight but I think that Hoost will prevail in the end.

Semifinals

Ray Sefo vs Mighty Mo
Winner:Ray Sefo
Method:JD
Round:3

This is the fight I'm looking most forward to because it is bound to be a slugfest. Both fighters will likely take a great amount of damage but considering Sefo's better technique and popularity in Japan he should be able to win a JD.

Peter Aerts vs Ernesto Hoost
Winner:Peter Aerts
Method:JD
Round:3

Aerts has looked more impressive than Hoost recently and I believe that he will press the action enough to get a JD in this fight. I don't see neither doing any serious damage to the other.

Final

Ray Sefo vs Peter Aerts
Winner:Ray Sefo
Method:JD
Round:3

I think this fight will be similar to their latest fight at the 2002 GP. Very close decision which goes to Sefo mainly due to his popularity.

Superfights/Reservematches

Jerome Le Banner vs Hiromi Amada
Winner:Jerome Le Banner
Method:TKO
Round:2

Le Banners arm shouldn't be an issue in this fight as Amada isn't exactly known for his kicking skills. An aggresive Le Banner looking for redemption TKO's Amada in the second round with punches.

Cyril Abidi vs Gary Goodridge
Winner:Gary Goodridge
Method:KO
Round:1

Cyril Abidi is a much better kickboxer than Goodridge but he has a problem with aggresive heavy hitters. I think that Goodridge will come out swining and just overwhelm Abidi. This fight will probably look a lot like Abidi vs Jackson 1.

I think that post is more than worthy of a thread of its own.

Sefo will take this one, only injuries or bad luck can take that away from him
