I saw the fight and in no way does it mean that Andy Lee is a false hype. So he gets to a title shot with 1 lost instead of zero. You are giving up on him way to quick for having really one bad round. He won all the other rounds and I really didn't like the stoppage anyways. I mean he was throwing back and he was only getting hit with one bomb at a time. If he has taking alot of punches in bunches then I understand. He landed the last punch of the fight and it was a good punch. When the fight was over the fans all looked at the ref, because he was the star of the fight for callig it right when the drama was at its highest.

Andy still has dynamite power and he still has a great jab. If he had of thrown the hook after the left hand like Teddy Atlas was saying he would have got out of there. He is still a beast and he will still be a title holder. He is not ready for the Winky Wrights of the world, but because he is left handed he could catch Winky more then anyone else has.

I just finished watching the fight. Thanks for the consideration Paul, I threw up a spoiler warning on the thread but in the future if you wanna start a new thread with spoilers feel free to start one and just mark it as such. I'm just trying to keep spoiler warnings as a consideration for folks who might not have seen the fights yet.

I don't think Andy Lee is a false hype in the general sense of the word, but I do think that if Manny still thinks Lee can hang with Winky then that is 100% false hype. No way would I put money on Andy in a Wright/Lee fight even if Winky was a -800 favorite.

When I saw this thread I was going to post exactly the same thing. Andy has the tools, he just needs to tie up better as the commentators suggested. Also, Andy managed to show that he has heart and a good chin and the stoppage was just awful.
