Well HBO and Showtime have had competing cards air on the same night before, but this particular date (4/12) will have some quality matches on each network.

HBO will be airing Miguel Cott vs. Alfonso Gomez and Antonio Margarito vs. Kermit Cintron.

Showtime will be airing Chad Dawson vs. Glen Johnson and Clinton Woods vs. Antonio Tarver.

Whenever HBO and Showtime go head to head I think it's simultaneously great and shitty for boxing fans. Great because we have so many fights to choose from, shitty cuz we're forced to choose (even if we DVR one of the broadcasts live and watch the other later it's not the same at least to me) when each network has plenty of other Saturdays open where they could air the cards without competing against each other.

HBO is far superior that night. If Tarver was fighting Chad then I would choose HBO by a smaller margine then I am now.

I of course will be watching both cards, so don't pay attention to my vote. I will be watching the HBO card first though.

HBO wins. I have HBO so i am biased, but i picked it mostly for boxing.

I'm a huge Woods fan so I'm more interested in the Showtime card. Of course we have neither HBO or Showtime here so it's a bit pointless me commenting really :)

I'm still split. Margarito/Cintron is by far the best of the four fights. But Cotto/Gomez is the least interesting to me. Like I said in previous posts, I have nothing against Alfonso and he seems like a really good guy. But I expect Cotto to absolutely tear him up. If I had to rank my order of the fights it would be:

1) Cintron/Margarito
2) Dawson/Johnson
3) Woods/Tarver
4) Cotto/Gomez

I agree: I like Gomesz, but Cotto defeated Judah and Shane Mosely in 2007, there is NO WAY Alfonso is ready for Cotto.

Thats my order of importance exactly. I just rank the Cintron/AM fight so high that that card is my winner.

I will definitely be tuning into HBO. Hope the winners of those fights square off since Floyd doesn't want them. I am going with Cotto and Cintron (which would kick ass) though Margarito probably thinks it is his chance to get back to the top.
