How many of you plan on watching the upcoming Roy Jones Jr vs. Felix "Tito" Trinidad fight? While they're both clearly past their primes I was planning on watching it mainly out of curiosity and nostalgia...until I realized it'll be on at the same time as UFC 80. Is there anyone on here who will be watching RJJ/Trinidad over UFC 80? For those wondering here's the undercard:

Andrew Golota (40-6-1) vs. Mike Mollo (19-1)
Roman Karmazin (36-2-1) vs. Alex Bunema (26-9-2)
DeMarcus Corley (31-7-1) vs. Devon Alexander (13-0)
Guillermo Jones (35-3-2) vs. TBA

I definitely will not be paying any money to watch two past their primes
who were not in the same weight classes at the same time (that i know of), to fight for a chance at no title.

I'm have no real urge to watch it but if it happens to be on when I'm watching telly I wouldn't switch off. TBH I don't even know how it's being broadcast here.

I can not imagine paying 45 bucks for this, as much of a TITO fan as I am. I will try to watch it on someone else's tab though, be it a friends house who is a sucker or a sportsbar. I love Tito. If I was confident that the size differential did not matter and that Tito would KTFO of Roy anyways, then I probably would lay down the $. But I am not assured. I can hope though. WAR Tito!

If the undercard was atleast deacent I would consider it, but the undercard sucks so I can wait for teh replay of this one.

Lets not forget, these are big names, this in no way is a big fight.

It's slotted for 3:00-6.30AM on Setanta over here. No way am I staying up that late. Also both UFC and Skelton v Chageav are on earlier in the night at the same time, pity I am going out so can't watch any of them live.

I will have to 'obtain' all these and watch them another time....

Watched the HBO Countdown show. Roy looks like he is in good shape and ready to get back on top. Tito is his usual smiley self, but no footage was shown of him training, so can't tell if he will look like a real 170 lber or the outclassed Tito that got hammered by Winky. I'm hoping Tito can somehow land a big one.

I just realized/remembered that UFC 80 will be on at 12 noon Pacific time which means it won't conflict with RJJ/Trinidad at all. Therefore I'll be watching both :) I agree that Roy/Tito isn't worth shelling out the ppv bucks, but since I pay a pretty cheap cover to watch ppv's at sports bars that isn't really a factor for me. And despite the fact that this fight probably won't be much to watch the nostalgia and curiosity factor that I mentioned earlier kick in enough for me to want to see it.

Yeah, King usually puts on decent undercards too. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come from him.

I think it has a lot to do with who King has under his banner now. The power has long since shifted. He can't pick and choose like he used to.

I watched the show too, it was pretty good.
Always nice to see the footage of Roy in his Prime as well.

I am still not getting the PPV, but i will read a PbP.

So I finally got around to watching the fight, I wasn't able to watch it live as I originally planned due to some unforeseen circumstances.

It was a better fight than I expected. Tito's defense surprised me as it was sharper than I had expected. I gave him the first 3 rounds and gave Roy the following 9. I think Roy was testing Tito's power and once he was comfortable with the fact that Tito didn't have the power to knock him out he took over the fight. My only complaint is that I believe Roy could've finished Tito if he woulda pressed him harder but then again this is Roy Jones Jr. we're talking about and I don't think we'll ever see him ever really pursue the KO if he can just sit back and potshot away. Oh well. If he does indeed fight the winner of Hopkins/Calzaghe I don't see him being able to pull out a victory against either fighter. At least not with what he showed us last Saturday.
