In 2007 Golden Boy and Top Rank came to an agreement regarding the promotional rights of Pacquiao and have recently begun collaborating on fights and events and Thursday the two promoters announced their biggest joint venture thus far; a Marquez/Pacquiao rematch. A press release sent out Thursday morning stated, “Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank, in association with Romanza Boxing Productions and MP Promotions, are proud to announce that on Saturday, March 15, 2008, Juan Manuel Marquez will defend his WBC Super Featherweight Title against number one contender Manny Pacquiao at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino on HBO Pay-Per-View.”
Oh boy this is gonna be a good one.
