Found this on 15rounds.com:
According to TicketsNow (www.TicketsNow.com), the world's leading online independent marketplace for premium event tickets, the December 8th bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Ricky Hatton is comparable in high ticket demand to Mayweather’s previously hyped match against Oscar De La Hoya.
Currently at TicketsNow, tickets to the fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas range from $1,070 to $12,840, whereas tickets for Mayweather-De La Hoya were available from $1,220 to $14,375 back in April. Boxing aficionados and spectators are again coming out in droves for a Mayweather fight, having already paid an average of $1,722 per ticket—one customer even paid $5,345 for their seat.
Looks like more record business for Golden Boy.

The only thing that sucks about this fight is that it could sellout a football stadiam, but it is only being seated for 10'000. This is simply because Mayweather doesn't want his small audience to be drowned out even more.

Actually Mayweather did not have a single hand in how tickets are allocated.

He had a hand in were the fight took place and you better believe that he chose that particular building for a reason.

Did you mean where? And no he actually did not.

I love watching him fight. That said, to charge or pay over $1000 for bloody-nose seating tickets on a regular basis is madness. I'm amazed there are that many people with that much constantly disposable income for this.

Wow those are certainly some big numbers for ticket prices. Nose bleeds for Calzaghe-Kessler were £40.

Personally I would have preferred being live for that one.

Right now, I guess somewhere around a hundred bucks. (I might be a bit off though)
But let's say that if there's a hype. I'll watch it.. :)

I think most fans would want to watch, I just get confused as to who would want to pay that much to do so, unless they've gott more $$ than they know what to do with. I mean, that's more money for the worst seats in the house than the entire undercard will be making for fighting.

SIck thing is closed-circuit TV is completely sold out mostly to UK fans at $1000+ a seat. Maywetaher had little to do with allocation of those too. Golden Boy allegedly opened more spots and rapidly ran out anyways.

On a different note regarding the hype for this fight, does it concern people that it seems to be drawing so much hype from the more casual audience?
I anticipate a fight where Floyd pretty much runs circles around Ricky and I expect another beautiful, masterful ring performance. But most fans want to see blood and guts rock 'em sock 'em type fights and I suspect they'll be severely disappointed/disillusioned much like many were after the DLH fight. I know that for me personally when a lot of my friends were getting interested in the Floyd/Oscar fight that I tried to play down their expectations as much as possible and give them a more realistic look at how the fight would play out. For casual fans I try to pump up fights that will be more to their liking (such as Pavlik/Taylor or Mosley/Cotto).
What do you guys think? Is good attention better than no attention? Will a disappointing fight that bores the general audience hurt boxing? Do you think it will actually do the opposite and educate fans about the finer points of the sweet science? Or do you think I'm totally off base and that the fight will provide a ton of action (and if you do think that please pass me whatever it is that you're smokin ;))?
One last comment, I know I keep saying it but the production team for HBO's 24/7 series are MASTERS. The way they build up the fights is absolutely irresistible. If I'm Zuffa I try to head hunt and steal away as many people from their team as possible.

Well. Soulrise, you have a point. Hopefully even casual fans can appreciate PBF's style. The Gatti fight comes to mind where he was able to breakdown and destroy Gatti. I am not saying i think he will do that to Hatton, i am officially pulling for Hatton to pull off an upset. I actually am hoping for a TKO in the late rounds. anyway, i will fall on the side of any exposure is good. but you definitely bring up some very valid considerations.

I think Mayweather well actually put on a very good show. If Luis Collazo creates unholy havoc for Hatton Floyd will do 10X as much.
Oh the 24-7 episode 3 delved more into Pops mayweather and Mom Sinclair's issues.

Although Baldomir is more of a plodder than Ricky I, like most people are kind of picking Mayweather to angle away and just touch Hatton up to a win. But who knows? May be Graham and company have a new and improved startegy.

For ONLY 55 bucks, who is laying it down and getting the PPV?
Paul T

Although i admit it is one of the reasons [along w/ Mosley Cotto]
i got a new subscription to HBO.
(However a special promo of $5.00/mo. is hard to beat)

One of my ex-girlfriends (who I'm still friends with) works for a cable company so she gets all ppv's for 50% off. If it wasn't for that I'd just go to a sports bar to watch (sports bars around here usually have a $20 cover for fight ppv's).

Iron Mike wants Hatton to win too. Although if you read closely it says he "wants" Hatton to win, not that he's actually picking him to win. Say what you want about Mike but you can't deny that the man's got boxing knowledge for days. But seriously though, seems like most boxers resent Money Mayweather. Can you taste the hate?

Just saw the weigh-ins and the atmosphere was amazing, Hatton looked fired up. It's obvious Mayweather's really got under his skin (I don't know if the same hand gestures exist in America but Hatton gestured to Mayweather calling him a wanker and a dickhead lol) and if Ricky loses his head he'll be in trouble.
That said I reckon Hatton's gonna do this. It maybe because I've got caught up in all the hype but Hatton looks really hungry for it.

Pretty Boy is gonna tear him up. I think it ends on cuts(or worse) by 4th Rd. Not as bad as Gatti fight, but not that far off. Respect to Hatton, but he just is not big enough to do any real damage, and surely isnt fast enough to ever catch Floyd. Ricky Fatton is gonna be humbled tonight I do believe. BUT, he will have plenty of QUID to throw darts at for the rest of his life. Goldenboy has their nemesis...and are banking off him regardless. What is the old saying? If you can not beat them....join them. Let's see Cotto - Floyd already! And yes..that is me already looking past this fight. I have decided it is a no brainer. Floyd is too good...now in about 15 hours...I may have to eat some crow...but at least it wont be 2 girls and 1 cup.

there is a nice preview of the fight by Teddy Atlas on the espn site:

Teddy thinks PBF will win as well, but said Hatton has a chance if
he can bang to the body all night. Come on Hatton!! :-)

Floyd won, TKO 10th.
It was good fight, but it could have been a lot better if there was a normal referee.

Totally agree about Cortez but I was so impressed with Mayweather. We all know how well he can box but his work on the inside and some of his spoiling tactics proved that he can really scrap too.

********* SPOILER**********
I can't remember a time when Mayweather looked so uncomfortable as he did in the first few rounds. He gave up the first few against Judah and Oscar but that seemed more by choice than anything.
I gave Hatton the first three rounds but Mayweather just worked out how to deal with him and really is one of the most talented boxers I've ever seen.
He was superb.
But Joe Cortez' performance may have been one of the most appalling things I've ever seen from a referee. He timed the stoppage perfectly but his interference early in the fight was disgusting. I never want to see him assigned to a fight ever again. I'm certain somebody from the NSAC must have had a word with him after the 4th because he calmed down a lot but his overly fussy and blatantly pro-Mayweather approach were sickening.
And Lennox Lewis' post-fight comments that Hatton should retire prove again that he's an idiot. Hatton lost to the world's best boxer. Lennox got SPARKED by Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman. Should HE have retired? The balding fool.

100% agree, it's obvious that this really effected Hattons rhythm.
After re-watching the fight I'm still amazed by how good a complete fighter Mayweather is. I thought he'd want nothing to do with Hattons rough style but Mayweather was prepared for that kind of fight using his elbows and forearms on Hatton. And then to go from that to brutal, accurate shots and sublime counter punching just showed that he's all quality.
Lennox is indeed and idiot. The one thing I think Hatton has learned from this though is that his weapons just aren't affective enough at welter.

That fight was far more competitive and entertaining than I expected. Great showing by Floyd. I hope the world took note of his classy post-fight behavior too. I'm not trying to excuse the garbage he spits to hype up fights but it's been clear to me for awhile that he's intelligent and understands that by acting like a total arrogant and infuriating asshole the public will love to hate him. I honestly believe it's a business decision on his part since he sees the end result at the box office and pay per view buys. By all accounts from those who actually know Floyd (family, friends, doctors, trainers, other fighters he's worked with) they say he's always been a genuine and respectful guy. It's sad that the world wouldn't embrace him to the level that they do when he plays the bad guy but that's the state of our world.
As for Hatton I actually only gave him rounds 1 and 3, but he did indeed put a lot of pressure on Floyd and he forced Floyd to adjust his game to finally end the fight. There's no shame in going out the way he did against Floyd and I'm sure he'll continue to have great success at 140.
As far as Lennox Lewis, we really shouldn't dignify or validate his comments with a response
