From fight news.com:
On Saturday, February 23rd, at ‘The Mecca of Boxing’, New York City’s Madison Square Garden, that day will be one step closer when IBF & IBO Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko and WBO Heavyweight Champion Sultan Ibragimov meet to unify their titles in a bout destined to bring clarity to the heavyweights once again.
Klitschko and Ibragimov, a 12 round heavyweight title unification bout, headlines a historic night of boxing presented by K2 Promotions and Seminole Warriors Boxing and will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing.
Spine injury not forthcoming this could actually be interesting. Ibragimov recently beat Holyfield in a snoozer in mother Russia. Very honestly I see less of a chance of a similar snorefest emerging here beause Ibragimov and Klitschko aren't old men. But both of them have seemed to adapted to a safer less committal style.

It's a good step (and I'd favor Wladimir as well) but I can still sum up my thoughts of the heavyweight division in one word: meh.

This needed to happen and I am glad it did. I think the Doctor is the best heavyweight in the world so I got him winning.

only two more days away for Klitschko and Ibragimov any last minute thoughts?
I just saw the weigh in and Klit looks awfully focused....

I think it is 70/30 that Vlad will take it.
Ibragimov is a southpaw who is a good brawler and has developed great lateral foot work.
he took out Shannon Briggs, and has decent KO power, he just ahs to stay away from the right hand.
If Klit has his jab pumping out all night, it will be a long night for Ibragimov. I think it is on HBO instead of PPV for once

Vlad will loose by ko in the first round(don't think so ;) , or he will dominate the fight and win by tko in round 7-9 .

What a sleeper. Zzzzzz. Sultan had NOTHING for Vlady, and Vlady did NOTHING to finish the fight. He was more than content to jab his way to victory. The Strikeforce card is going on at the same time and my time was divided 90/10 in favor of Strikeforce.

Pretty boring fight. Still Vlad was dominant and made Sultan look like he didn't belong there.

*Sighs* Oh how I miss the late 80s and early to mid-90s when the heavyweight division was actually worth caring about.

I came I saw I booed. I booed out loud among my friends. I booed after the fight. I booed on the way to the bathroom. I booed while taking a piss. I will boo in my sleep.

How did Duddy look?

I just finished watching this fight (and the Duddy fight) on WOWOW. Hahaha, what a boring fight. There's nothing like watching such a physically gifted guy so ridiculously cautious and defensive. I'm not at all against technical fights, but there was something ridiculous about this fight beyond that. He's out. No more MSG for him, please.
And Duddy looked like a hyper-active punching bag. It was as if anything you do with your right hand would land clean on his face. Is that guy fighting Pavlik next? That's what Joe Koizumi, a commentator, hinted at, and I'm already worried.

Wlad Klitschko is technical in a sense he's not a brawler but certainly one could wish for more versatile, creative and surprising stuff from him ..l his style works for him, and at least until now, he's been KO'ing his opponents ... even using only his left hand - that was a ridiculous match ...
but I wonder why he doesn't realize that just being the champ isn't enough, the champ should fight like a champ, otherwise interest wanes ...
