Man know there are two promotional groups trying to steel my fantastic name for a kickboxing league. The whole world is against me.

Question, what do you do if you don't have stand up guys on your team? Or did I look in the wrong area.

Well, first I would inquire the commisioner on the standup abilities of my fighters.
They might not be K-1 fighters, but Cyril Abidi once got ktfo'd by Quinton Jackson.

Sometimes an MMA Fighter can upset a superior striker, just as a superior striker can upset an mma fighter (the winners of past firepro tournies include Peter Aerts, Mark Hunt, and Mirko Cro-cop ...who faced Sam Greco in the finals!)

Secondly, yes, yes I did steal the name from you! It's a damn good name! :D

We have ICE-COLD?! Mutiny ;-9

And we should speak to Herring and see if he´s up for it. He likes to bang and has a solid chin with knock-out power.

The Red Scorpion unleashed!!

http://www.empiremuaythai.com/fighters_photos/alexey_ignashov.jpg

K-1 Superstar Alexey Ignashov will return to the ring coming
wednesday at the first S-1: World Standup League event.

The Red Scorpions fighting carreer has been unstable from
late 2004 up until 2006, but an impressive knockout victory
over Atilla Karacs earlier this year and a contract deal
with him joining Team K1POWER showed he is ready to mix it
up with the big boys again.

On the question who he will fight, the Belorussian fighter
smiled and said; "I don't know yet, but let me tell you this:
I want to fight a strong opponent! I am in great shape and
don't want to take the slow path being built up against weaker
fighters. I know what I'm capable of. Put me on the main card
against a high-level competitor and I won't dissappoint you!"

In other news it is rumoured yet another TEAM K1POWER member
will appear on the S-1 card; Masaaki Satake. Shikashi, Mr.Satake
wasn't available for comments yet.

'Peter Aerts: I hope Ernesto keeps his promise!'

Thursday, november 1st, Amsterdam

While we step into the gym of Sportcentrum Kops in Amsterdam we hear a overwhelming loud laugh. It's no one other than the 3 times K-1 World Grand Prix Champion Peter Aerts. 'The Dutch Lumberjack' is without doubt one of the greatest legends in the kickboxing world.

At the moment he's training for the big K-1 World Grand Prix finale this december, an he wants to win badly: ' Yeah this is my 15th consecutive time I compete in the finals. That's a record that probably won't be broken for a long time except by myself hahaha.'

People call him 'Mr K-1', a well-deserved nickname with his record and accomplishment. Aerts is honored with this compliment, but he feels he's not totally done yet. 'Sure it's nice to being called that. But I will be really pleased to feel the crown on my head for the fourth time. There's an ongoing discussion whether Ernesto Hoost or me is the best K-1 fighter all-time. Well, he has a record 4 titles, I have 3. So it's only fair I should get at least a tie hahahhaha.' Again, that laugh. It must be another record in the K-1 business, namely the loudest.

'Speaking about ties... Ernesto and I had another one. We were 2-2 in fights when I fought him in the Amsterdam Arena. I was doing commentary while he was supposed to fight Bob Sapp. Well we know that story... Sapp left the building and Ernesto was without an opponent. While I was eating some bitterballen I was asked to fight Ernesto last minute. "Sure I said", although my wife wasn't pleased with it afterwards hahahaha. Well I lost the fight on points, but everyone knows that this fight was more of an exhibition match than a real fight. Ernesto promised me afterwards to fight me once more, so we could both train and show a real figth. I really hope he keeps his promise!'

Is this Aerts calling out Ernesto Hoost for the upcoming S-1 World Standup League event? ' You bet. After I beat Hoost and win my fourth title in december, there will be little doubt who's Mr. K-1. Who the biggest legend is, I leave to the fans hahahah.'

Buakaw: rematch too soon? I'm sure the fans want to see it as badly as I want it

Thursday, november 1st, Amsterdam

After the big disappointment in the latest K-1 MAX finale, Buakaw Por Pramuk is already training hard for his next fight. Not in Thailand this time, but as guests of Peter Aerts in the Netherlands.

'Yes after being signed in Team Jofeljoh! we decided to all train together and set strategies for our next fights. They have an impressive training facility and also very good fighters. They train very differently but I hope I can learn as much as I can. The people are very friendly and I do my best.'

Buakaw have little regrets about his latest performance in the first round against Masato in the K-1 MAX finale. 'Sure I'm not happy how the fight went. I should have fought Masato differently than I did. But I have to give Masato a lot of credit. He is a great fighter and he deserved the win. Although I could have done better, I have no regrets. This happens in fighting, sometimes you win but also you sometimes lose. I just learn from my losses and I hope I will win next time.'

Next time. But when will next time be. If it's up to Buakaw, as soon as possible. 'Yes I want to fight Masato again as soon as possible. I want to make up for the loss and show my fans I can do better. I'm training hard and I'm ready for a rematch. This would be our third fight and will show who's the best. It's a superfight, so no strategy about surviving a possible next to fights. This will be the rubber match. I hope Masato will agree to fight in the next S-1 event. I know it's soon, but I'm sure the fans would love to see it again. We had a memorable fight last time, and this will be another one'.

"You saw what I did to LeBanner"

Wanderlei Silva announced his intention of joining the new S-1 organisation today after a intense sparring session with 'Big' Tim Sylvia, where he showcased strong punches and powerfull knee combinations. Impressing the audience of journalist watching.

"They tell me S-1 is a completly different game then MMA but I'm confident in my hands and knees. I'll show the power of BLOODFIST"

Asked about possible opponents Wanderlei simply stated "Whoever is fine, I understand that I'm a newcomer here and might have to prove my S-1 ability on the undercard. I will have to make an example of whoever I fight"

A travel weary Hoost met with the media Thursday to discuss plans to make an S-1 fight league appearance against a man and friend he promised a revenge bout with, Peter Aerts.

"Peter is a good friend. My schedule did not permit me enough time to focus on my own training," confessed a saddened Hoost, "Peter and I want to put on the best performance possible.. I am sure he understands if I cannot make this show for the fans."

Ernesto Hoost, four time K-1 champion, is looking forward to returning to the ring later this month.

"I would love to face Peter after this show. We will both be prepared and we will both be ready to make a good fight then."

"I understand if Aerts is dissappointed; I am dissappointed, but we will combat soon enough!"

The return of a legend. The great Andy Hug will return to the ring for the inaugural S-1 mega kickboxing event. He is scheduled to face old adversary Satake in what many expect to be a classic bout of pure excitement and karate prowess, and one that is sure to have everyone on their feet, at least those in the arena outside the ropes. As part of the new collection of talent put together by the Church of Xyientology, Andy Hug is the Karate Warrior for Los Super Amigos, and is expected to live up to his Super Hero moniker of Iron Man. See it LIVE November 7th when Andy Hug invades the S-1 Super Show.
