Grant Ellis is proud to bring you the return of FIREPRO dominance on Kakutougi.Info!

What is Firepro?
Fire Pro is a series of Japanese Wrestling Simulation games, covering puroresu, K-1, UWF style, MMA, cage fighting, and various other styles of matches. Many famous professional athletes are included in the game. The complex grapple system leads to many interesting matches.

The biggest FirePro Tourney on this site can be found in this threadL
http://forum.kakutougi.info/showthread.php?t=5406&highlight=firepro

What does a FirePro manager do?
Your job is going to be to DRAFT a team of athletes from the talent pool and choose when to promote them in upcoming Kakutougi Firepro Events. These include leagues, tournaments, challenge matches, etc. I will try to plan them to be between biweekly and monthly. A lot of effort goes into producing the match summaries, photos, and videos, and we want to make sure we turn out a quality product!

What do we receive?
For every victory your fighter receives he is awarded points going towards the rankings.

Points are used for various things, but most of all points guarantee entry into Fire Pro events.

Example:
FirePro Super Tourney is next weekend. The tourney is for athletes with 40 points to 70 points. You would like to see one of your fighters compete.

Your pool consists of:
Giant Silva (10 points)
Renzo Gracie (45 points)
Tsuyoshi Khosaka (20 points)
Renato "Babalu" Sobral (40 points)

You could choose to enter Renzo or Babalu, you might even want to scout and see who has alredy entered, or what the rules et is for the event, as you don't want to send Renzo Gracie to compete in a K-1 Rules event (unless you're a Gracie hater but that is another discussion...)

Do I keep my fighters forever?
You can only draft fighters for a certain period of time. This is defined in their fighters contract.

One fighter may be named Team Captain. His contract is tripled the norm, and may be bought renewed at Half Points.

Most fighters will side with you for 4 events time, but after that they will become free agents and can be purchased for a set number of points (those points are deducted from other fighters and used to give the fighter a nice starting base, otherwise he may not be able to enter tournaments)

Yes, you may bid and auction fighters to each other as long as it is done in private.

So come on all of you wanna-be fight promoters and mma managers! Sign up and let the games begin!

Just post your name here. I'm keeping a spreadsheet of all this, which I will export in due time.

Once I see who signs up we can do the fighter draft

(did Tim Sylvia vs. jerome LeBanner today... won't share the results until it happens for real!)

You'll basically be able to draft a "team" of 4 (maybe 5) fighters. each get 4 fight contracts, your designated captain is on a 12 fight contract with your team.

I may break my oath and try my hand at managing too, but I don't want to create controversy with "worked" fights or anything :X

Fire Pro Returns is a wrestling video game for the PS2. You can have different types of fights there and there are many MMA/K-1 fighters in the game. You can also make the CPU face the CPU and you can make your own characters.

Grant Ellis
13th October 2007, 11:02 PM
Here's how the system works:

We have 15 or so managers.

You managers participate in a draft where you recruit MMA/K-1 fighters onto your team.

I make threads where you can signup your fighters into tournaments, which are recorded and posted by me.

The more your guys win, the more points you get.

The more points you get the more prestigious tournaments you may enter.

And eventually, one fighter and one team will be crowned champions.

Images, fight summaries, and match videos will be placed on the site as they happen.

Don't worry, I'll throw your name in and we can explain it a bit more as it happens.

You are basically forming an mma team and having them compete in online tournies. The games are simulated using a video game in which the computer controls the fighters. I take images and videos from the results and post them.

Aha so you run the game, okey..sounds fun im in for sure, a bit more info once we get started could be good as you say =)

Grant Ellis

Also, worthy of note, you can have fun naming your "team", keep them loyal to promotions (pride vs. ufc anyone?) etc.... just have fun with this once it gets rolling.

Ross Ellis is in, he forgot his password, that leaves one more spot.... we'll add an extra spot to make it an even 16 :X

So we have two spots left.

We are going to hold an open draft.

You will see a list of fighters and take turns picking them.

First round of the draft you pick one fighter, this will be your TEAM CAPTAIN

Second round you pick 2 fighters.

Third round everyone picks one last fighter.

Fourth round you can make trades with each other.

After the teams are organized you will start seeing firepro event threads popping up that you may enter your fighters in.

Hey I don't even mind fielding a wholly shoot style puro team if all the mma guys are accounted for.

Step forward Nobuhiko Takada, Yoshiaki Fujiwara, and Tatsumi Fujinami. The old men of pretending to fight convincingly.

I'm trying my best to get my head round the rules but it's tricky.

I think I get it. Would it make it more interesting to not have a limit on the number of fighters in your team after the initial draft? So as you get more successful you can build up a stable of good fighters.

And are you rating the fighters in terms of what to buy them. Like, it should be harder to get fighters who are clearly stronger in firepro.

I'm confusing myself.

Grant Ellis
16th October 2007, 12:38 AM
Stronger fighters will win more often, therefore they will become more expensive.

I have a formula based off of their win loss record, their amount of "prestige" (some tournaments are weightier than other) past titles, and your RELATIONSHIP with the fighter.

Noone likes to be forced into fighting Amir Rhanavardi in KOTC.

And yes, we are eventually going to open things up so you can expand your team... more or less you can buy out somebody's roster.

I'm going to try and expand our total fighter pool weekly.

I don't envy you. Making usable firepro characters is a fucking science. I don't know to what level you went into it but it gets ridiculous when you start tweaking if Nick Diaz should go for a kneebar 45% of the time when the opponent is exhausted and face down, or 83% of the time.

The logic is by far the heart of the game.

It takes months of tweaking to get it accurate to the point where anyone is really functional from scratch, so the best thing to do is mimic the logic of another fighter and then tweak from there.
