Strange, I love games but that did nothing for me. All the close ups seemed like cut scenes but I'd expect the first bit represents playable footage.

It's a TRAILER. There was nothing indicating gameplay here what so ever, just a pre-rendered trailer.

Yes I understand that, I did not say it was footage of gameplay. What I meant was the different scenes, close-ups for cut and fighting for playable, are to REPRESENT the kind of graphics render they hope to achieve.

If you look at the WWE game for Xbox 360 from the same company that's probably what you can expect graphics wise.

I hope they removed button mashing for getting out of submissions because that gets really tiresome after a while.

Smackdown vs Raw 2007? I'd expect it to be a marked improvement on that as THQ just used the old engine from the ps2 and upped the poly count for the xbox 360.

I'd think the main difference in the actual game will come from the movement and interaction of the characters rather than the graphics.

Also I imagine they'll use the same analogue control system expected on wwe 2008 for the submissions/ escapes.

I'm not really interested in this game if THQ approach it as one of the countless wrestling games they've churned out.

the original pride game on the ps2 was awesome and i was gutted the inferior sequel never came out in the uk. mma needs a great game on a next gen platform, im getting so bored of that ancient pride game

Of course it's pre-rendered, still on a PS3 even in-game could look close to that quality if you actually make good use of the consoles capabilities, just imagine a good K-1 game on PS3!!

Seriously though, although the K-1 games by D3 publisher can't really hold a candle to the Konami ones, the Konami games weren't flawless either so it'd be cool to see how a completely new developer would do...
