Unless he defends the title in June it would seem.......
Slaven: So, what's going on with a title fight?
Mirko: Only one thing is for sure - I'll fight for a title in June. I won't fight until June, I'll take some time to relax and then I'll resume my trainings.
Slaven: It seems Fedor isn't defending his title?
Mirko: I can't understand why he keeps ducking me. I don't have a personal issue with Fedor, I respect him for he is a great fighter and a champion. This is the second time that he's faced with my challenge and he's not willing to accept it. I earned my chance to fight for the title and I will fight.
Slaven: So you could be fighting against Nogueira again?
Mirko: It's possible. It's perfectly clear that PRIDE will take the belt from Fedor if he's not going to defend it. I would prefer getting the belt from the hands of the champion, I was really looking forward to fight vs Fedor.

We wont have any news on whether he will be actually stripped until March when he is supposed to be resigning with Pride.

I don`t think he`s ducking CC but Fedor can`t comment anything about the title fight because he`s not under contract right now and more likely his manager and Pride are talking about a new deal.

Dont wanna think fedor is ducking mirko. not yet atleast.. that said using the "its up to my manager" excuse/line is quite convinient if you dont wanna look like your ducking someone.
Your just doing what your manager tells you.. here managers are convinient when it comes to absorb some heat from fans.
Sortof when a politican doesnt wanna answer a hard question he sais he has summoned a commite investigating the question.

Correct me if i'm wrong but even when Fedor got his title shot against Nog, didn't he take his sweet time before taking the fight?
Also (and i know it's not as common on this forum) but as far as the ducking talk goes, realistically, Fists of Fire / Survival is the first Pride in over year where it's been realistic for Fedor to defend his title. For most of 2004 he was participating in the GP which Cro Cop didn't have to worry about thanks to Randleman and then for the last bit, it was the reunification and that ended two months ago....

Correct there hasnt been a possible event in a while for fedor to have the fight.. it should have been done much earlier in that case cause latley its been impossible for fedor to take that specific fight... This year however there should be plenty of oppertunities.. perhaps MWgp final is likley if fedor signs.. hope i dont have to wait for NYE show..

I don`t think they`ll have it on the mwgpfinals, such a huge matchup like Fedor-CC needs a show of it`s own.

If they really are gonna strip Fedor it would be great to see him go to the UFC IMO!

If we for arguments sake assume fedor will be signed relative soon we can start look at possible events
Bushidos: No way
then we have the gp spread over three events..
openinground: to early and will be full of gp matches cant be fitted in there eaven if they wanted to waste it there...
gp round2: assuming there will be 16 participants from start there will be 8 fighters left here to compete for positions for the gp final making 4 fights and some need here for extra fights but not a fight of fedor mirko capacity
gp final: 3 gp fights including the final match... here there is some potential to have the fight before the gp final match if pride wants to put on a really great show.. i think its possible especially looking at the alternatives...
After the gp: will probably be one event after the gp but before the NYE show this could be it for mirko fedor but so close to the NYE wouldnt they save it in that case to NYE?
Well time will tell i guess.

I still maintain the strong belief that this is about money. Fedor, current undefeated Pride HW Champion, not under contract atm, got the best position he will ever have to negotiate a good contract (with Pride hopefully)

I hope this talk of Fedor training with Hoost in preperation for his fight with Mirko is true.
Though while on the surface I understand it, and whole I am sure Hoost is a brilliant teacher, I am not too sure how he could help other than with the basics on MT.
I mean, Mirko is a very different fighter from that which Hoost fought so long ago. Mirko doesn't even resemble a kickboxer anymore and there is no way I can see Fedor circling and lowkicking Mirko into submission.......

Keder: Do you think that Fedor is scary of possible fight for the title against you?
Mirko Filipović: I think he is not affraid. He is too great fighter to be affraid of the fight.
seems like mirko doesnt believe fedor is afraid. some more q&a on:
