I know I'm jumping the gun a little here, but who are the rumoured fighters that may be competing in Japan?

I for one would be very happy with that one! lol

I'm a little annoyed UFC may use Mirko in an event other than the one in Japan too. Makes no sense to take him to the US to fightwhere no one knows him than use him in Japan assuring their event will sell out and their name will be in the media here to an extent they have never dreamed of.

You're right, it would really suck for me to have the chance to watch Cro-cop fight live.

Thanks boobs. :(

LOL....you know what I mean.

Mirko is on a level of fame in Japan that all the UFC fighters together don't reach. And for UFC to hit the next level globally they need to capture some of the Japanese market.

It just doesn't make business sense for them not to use this one increadible chance to cash in on the biggest MMA market to me..........though having said that I assume if the UFC is getting Mirko, then the relationship between the big two must be getting to the stage that other opportunities may arise.

This is true, but also...many people have been learning of Mirko here in the States since 2003.

Nowhere near the level in Japan, but he was in several magazines with articles about the 2003 GP and Dana White was quoted as calling him "The Best Fighter In The World."

Nice compliment to have from Fester Adams :X

Anyways, it makes more since to have Mirko fight over there.
Against Arlovski.
For a belt.

Arlovski vs Mirko would be an increadible fight. Another one of those where you'd just like to enjoy the fight without it needing to have a loser....

Is it still true that they're planning on letting Mirko play target practice with Ken's head?

The the rumour, but Ken is crazy if he does it for less than $300 - $400k just to show up as it could well be the last time he passes a medical.

It should be really exiting.

Mirko should say that in public: "I'm very happy with the compliments I recieved from Uncle Fester"
