View Full Version : My twilight zone experience

Last week I went away for the weekend to go out clubbing with some friends of me in Belgium. It was friday and we didn't know where to go - for those familliar we were in Hasselt, one of the biggest cities in Belgium - and finally we decided to visit this Rnb club called the "Ritz". We just heard from other friends that there's always a nice atmosphere so we became curious to find out more.

As we parked the car and walked to the club I see this group of bouncers with the biggest one of em just turning around and it was Brecht Wallis! I was like... WTF? I mean I knew he was a bouncer, but never expected to actually see him stand in front of me in a club I wanted to visit with my friends. My mate recognised the bouncer as Wallis as well since he was one of the guys who joined me at the event in Amsterdam, but we didn't really have the guts to talk to him (yet) at first, cause he looked well... intimidating, lol.

Once in the club when I thought that was it as far as meeting/seeing known people goes, when my mate tells me to turn around and I turn around and see the actual current Miss Belgium standing right behind me... well, I thought she was ugly, but hey I didn't expect someone like her to like.. stand behind me, lol.

We decided it was time for some shots of tequilla and while we were taking shots we noticed that just a couple of meters away from us on the other side there was Kate Ryan standing, for those who don't know she's a pretty famous singer in Holland/Belgium/France and were like WTF, while we saw that next to her half the crew of Big Brother stood there dancing...

I won't even begin about the fire breathing dancer that looked like Manhoef and the Barkeeper that looked like Ruslan Karaev, but without the mullet, lol (these two weren't the real ones though).

After some tequilla's and passoa's when we were about to leave the club I went to Brecht Wallis and decided it was gonna be now or never and since I felt like I was in the twilight zone nothing bad could happen anyway, lol. I shook his hand and told him that I followed K-1/his fights and I saw him fight in Amsterdam. I told him that he put up a good fight and there was no shame in losing to Bregy. He seemed that he was more pissed at himself for not performing better in Amsterdam than it seemed he recognised Bregy as the better fighter that day, lol. Then I suggested Las Vegas went a lot better for him in comparison and he definitely agreed. I wished him the best and left with my friends. I feel I could have talked to him longer, but since he was doing his job I didn't wanna piss him off, lol. He actually seemed pretty friendly. I thought he'd be a prick at first, because you now, most bouncers are just that.

Pretty crazy night, but cool experience to meet a fighter that I just saw fight live a week ago.

Nice story K-1power! Next time I would advice you to go to the "Ritz" in Rotterdam. :P Slighty different type of club... oh and make sure you have a lot of money with you.

It usually takes many guys a few drinks before they dare to step to a girl they fancy, but it took you a few drinks before you start to talk with a bloke. lol

LMAO indeed it took me some drinks to talk to the guy, because he had that bouncer look, like, you know, he was ready to rip someone's head off, lol

That, he should have done in Amsterdam.
