Any news on what I assume is an injury Carter suffered in his fight? I can't figure out the game plan in that fight at all. Every time they engaged Paul got off first and Carter is trying to take it to the ground.
I'm assuming Carter won't be at the K-1 event in August and Mo probably not as well since he at least looked injured in his fight against Semmy.
I just haven't seen any Carter news since his fight.

It would be great if he could ever become as good/better than he was in 2003. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening anytime soon...

I would love to see him motivated and try another gym for a bit and see if it clicks for him. I'm sure Gene will blow a gasket at the suggestion but how can picking a few more brains or just getting the motivation that lights his ass on fire. It just seems he is going to slowly fade from the K-1/MMA scene unless something changes.

Is Gene the gentleman with the large mustache and beard that was promimently standing beside Carter Williams in his K-1 days?

Yes, but maybe more known for his great tirades on message boards.

I have to admit I never really followed Carter's career too closely. What sort of tirades does this gentleman go on? You wouldn't think a trainer as seemingly low-key as this dude would turn out to be anything but the case! Quite a surprising revelation to me.

Do this:
Make a post about Carter, his training, lack of focus or anything like that and sooner or later someone with 4th grade spelling will be calling you a pussy etc.

Sherdog rubs some people the wrong way. Gene has always been totally cool when posting on this site.

Gene is one of the most generous guys I've ever met. Sherdog is the most infantile KB forum on the planet. Gene behaves appropriately because Sherdog is a place where you can leave the manners and facts behind. You can write "Rickson by armabar" any time you feel like it there.

I have to admit, after going several rounds with Gene on sherdog years ago myself, I was surprised at just how easy-going he was in person when we finally met.

Every time I check Sherdog just to see if there is some news I might have missed I get so pissed and head straight over here. This board is seriously the best at having good talk about K-1 and MMA. I can see how Gene would freak at some of the idiotic shit talking that goes on but man there are times where he just brings it out with some of his responses.

You can read the posts he has made (some were from Carter as I think they share the account) here....no real drama anywhere.
I know sherdog brings the prick out in me too. As shocking as that is to beloeve :-X

I'll bet you if you he got rid of that 40lbs of useless fat he's carrying on his gut he'll have all the speed and agility needed to be a top contender. He's badly out of shape right now and that has to be a contributing factor to his lack of success.

Carter really is wasted potential. He was looking unbeatable a few years ago and then got knocked out several times in a row. This really starts to get a fighter doubting themselves. Considering the recent success Ernesto Hoost had in Amsterdam with Slowinski perhaps Carter's best bet is to try something totally different and pay the Four Time Champion a visit. I think Carter has to do something drastic or it's over. It's such a shame.

That would be great, but then you will here Gene or Carter say how they are brothers blah blah blah Gene is my only trainer, I only do what Gene says etc.
Could you imagine a focused carter under Hoost. Would be great to see how far he could go.

They actually just showed this strikeforce event on showtime. I don't know if it was originally a PPV, but American viewers may want to keep an eye out for it being repeated.
Carter did look a little heavier than in the past. He wasn't doing that badly, but Buentello caught him with a right uppercut to the eye, and Carter fell to the ground holding his eye as if it were scratched or something. The ref called off the fight. It was certainly no k.o. It looked like a freak occurrence to me. I did not hear exactly what the injury was?

The problem with Sherdog is: too many people. There are still a lot of good posters there, but it's hard to find their posts, and you wouldn't really bother to bookmark them like some sort of stalker. The bullshit level wasn't that much lower in the past, but at least you were able to find good posts much, much more easily. I'm under the impression that many of the good regulars have already pretty much left the Heavyweights section, though.
The problem with the K-1/kickboxing section is that it, being part of the forum that is heavily American and practically only specializes in the UFC now, attracts a massive number of ignoramus with completely false ideas about K-1/kickboxing in general, which renders serious discussions next to impossible.

K-1 forum there is crapola bigtime. I kinda feel like K-1fans is kids screaming about Thai fighters being kings of all that is good on earth too thou.
But has any1 heared something from Carter himself bout this? Is he contesting?

^ I haven't heard anything about him contesting the result or anything, and Gene's post made it sound like they pretty much admitted to it.

Gene said Carter tested positive for THC in Vegas, and now cocaine in California, so I don't expect any denials.

Hopefully, he decides to clean up his life, and gets the support he needs. It would be a waste to see him throw away his life on drugs. Worst case, he'll potentially go the same way former professional boxer Dickie Eklund did, as seen in this (good) documentary:
