What would you rate the overall show.

I would rate it as 7,5 ... but I can't vote because I don't see that number ;-)
There were some good bouts as well as bad bouts. Sapp vs Aerts and Mo vs Semmy were the main events of the evening but ended up really dissapointing. Slowinksi saved the tournament. Complete fighter, but he still has some flaws and fights too 'straight up'. The Junishi and Karaev bouts were good.

Manhoef and Paul's KO make it go to 6.
If not it was a pretty shitty event. The car looks great but I dont know, the fights werent that much exciting. Too bad.
BTW: good job to Simon Rutz and his crew again!
I dont know why, but the fact all K1 Satellite winners are around 90-95 kg only, it makes me scared about K1 future...Aerts, JLB, Sefo and even Schilt arent etrenel. Behind them are coming the guys like Manhoef, Samedov, mago etc... Not heavy enough! Just Melvin is wild enough to scary the big mens ;)

Hi AKA! What is JLBs actual weight, when I looked at your new Homepage I was was really surprised about his new "Look"! Totally different, when I compare it with the picture of him in the last years! But great!!!
on topic:
I liked it, there are allways some disappointing fights, even if the line-up is great. The best fights for me were:
Hiroya/ Tan
Slowinsky I,II,III
Mago/Bregy

I gave it 6, because it could've been so much more, so much better. K-1 Amsterdam just gets high expectations, and doesn't quite meet them in the end for some reason.
But Amsterdam is like a second home for K-1, and this event proved it again.

The line up was great. The Aerts-Sapp fight had potential but was over too quick. Schilt-Mo kind of dragged on because Mo looked like he gave up and just wanted to make it to the final bell.
Karaev hit my sympathy buttons again.
Magomedov and Samenov were good but shouldn't fight in the heavyweight division. It isn't that they can't win but the fights are too short to allow guys who need to run. They certainly aren't as bad as Kaoklai, but I doubt that they K-1 will move toward 5 rounds matches anytime soon.

The intent behind Amsterdam was good. The pre-fight buzz including the insertion of Sapp into the mix was exciting. The first fight where Karaev got clocked looked like it would set the tone for the evening. Unfortunately it did not. K-1 is about the KO's. There were too many decisions with the most boring being Semmy's fight. Semmy does what it takes to win with zero entertainment factor involved. He's actually said it himself in the past. Sorry Dutch fans, but this is a dilemma for K-1 right now. They must find /develop some big guys that can take a fight to Semmy, or we must all be prepared for more of the same clinically boring fighting.
Overall I'd rate Amsterdam a 5 out of 10. Hawaii was much more exciting.

I think the biggest mistake on FEG's behalf was not showing it delayed and editing out some of the most boring fights, and editing in some of the more exciting MMA fights that were the undercard.

I picked a 7, because I feel the field was alot better last year, and I think the Superfights were not up to par. I love Hiroya, and Saw is going to be tough, but Aerts vs Sapp and the Schilt slaughter of Mo were pretty uneventful. Slowinski was exciting while Mag was disapointing. I really wanted more from the Ruslan vs Melvin fight. I was hoping to see a few of those crisp picture perfect combo low kick finishes by Melvin. At the time I was excited, but I would have loved to see more.

How can you say Mag was dissappointing, Lord? I don't get that. When he went toe-to-toe with Bregy he was stopped after a great showing! You couldn't have expected more than that could you?

Agreed.
He wasnt dissapointing, his first fight with Maksym was impressive. Maksym is such an unorthodox fighter who has great hands but yet Magomed still managed to beat him at his own game.
Against Bregy he had a lot of heart but he fell apart because he didnt know how to handle fighting such a large man. Magomedov beats opponents with his creativity and movement but he when he realised he couldnt apply his usual strategy against Bregy he put it all on the line and went straight at him with punches, and unfortunately it didnt work. Desptite the stoppage being premature he didnt have the right strategy and would have likely lost anyway.
Slowinski had the best strategy for Bregy, out of all 3 fighters that fought Bregy that night he was the only one that used kicks. He hit the head and body with punches and then went low with the kicks and kept the pressure up. Eventually he landed that devestating hook when Bregy couldnt keep guessing where the next hit would come. His ability to employ a different tactic led to his win. And as he said afterwards:
"I am happy to win, training with Ernesto Hoost helped me a lot, I understand now how to adjust my strategy for different fighters, that made a difference today."

Amsterdam Gp was great. there weren't enough kos ???? man, from 4 super fights, 3 finished with ko's. from 7 tournament fihgts, 4 finished with koes. What would you want ? all the fights to end with kos ? BTW, for comparisson, last year's Final GP had only 2 koes from 7 tournament's fights (Feitosa vs Karaev, Aerts vs Feitosa).
Schilt is boring ? what about Mo ? what did he do ? Many people are blaming Schilt for being boring, but the problem is with his opponents - when he has a good one = an exciting fight (2005, 2006 Final GPs), but if the opponent has come only to defend... what would you expect ? Mo is the first to blame, not Schilt. Semmi did what he has to in order to win. Mo was only waiting for the bell

Would have given it a 6, but because they played a song from the Naruto soundtrack in the beginning I'll give it a 7.
