Why do you fight?

That's a question I find I'm asking myself on the eve of a big competition. What immediately comes to mind is that I fight to prove to myself that I can do it. I can force myself to go outside of my comfort zone and see how I'll hold up, will I fold or fight through? I love the adreneline--as you know you really alive in live competition. Also, I feel as though I/m expressing myself as an artist---a martial artist.

Why do you fight?

I love the sport and have trained at frist i wanted to fight just because i felt i had two, after i did i did not know at first why i wanted to fight or even if i did but i came to the understanding that i just love doing it that is my reason it provides me with pleasure to fight and train.

I fight to learn more and pass on to others. I find that I am a far better coach than a fighter, but I still enjoy the thrill of fighting anyway. I get more satisfaction when I watch someone I've trained win a fight, than when I actually win a fight myself.

But how did I start fighting? Well it started with a girl...

Jof, Shin - VOETSEK ;) but my bad. I worded it wrong. Let's just say i started training to fight seriously due to a certain girl in my life at that point. Maybe I had something to prove to her? Maybe I wanted to bust out some killer abs to impress her with? Maybe I just wanted to beat the shite out of her boyfriend (which ended up happening)? But she was definitely the initial reason behind it.

Why do you fight?

I guess it was peer pressure for me, back when I fought in karate tournaments (1993-1997 and once in 2003). After I started training MMA, every now and then I've felt a genuine motivation to fight. Haven't done so yet though.

Well I don't know if you could call me a 'fighter' but I just love it for the rush, its a great feeling getting in there, it also gives you the chance to take out all your anger and rage on an animate object.
