After last years drama, this is an interesting match up. The Hero vs the runaway chicken tail-between-his-legs Dog. Haha.

Bob Sapp should run away before the fight - and then have K-1 force Hoost into a match with Aerts.
Thats fair.

He promised Aerts a rematch after that fiasco. What better retirement fight? Theyre 3-2... a great rivalry should end at 3-3.

Is it me or does Bob Sapp look fatter than ever? Maybe body shots/front kicks are the key to toppling this Beast.

Better yet, Aerts should fake a last minute injury and K-1 should put Hoost in to fight vs Bob.

No way.. Hoost doesn't need a third loss to Sappy Sapp! Aerts isn't affected by Sapp-Kryptonite (or Kakuda reffing).

Nice read! When you hear him speak English (or try to do so) you get the wrong impression; that he's pretty much a dumbass, lol. But he's actually quite a well-spoken guy in Dutch.

I'm not quite sure what happened in Peter Aerts English studies. I want to say 90% of the Dutch people I know who speak English as a second language do so incredibly well, with very little accent and a firm grasp of the concept of American coloquialisms. I guess Peter was too busy learning how to use his shins as axes to be bothered with the mastering of English. Nothing wrong with that! His fighting record says more than any words can.

Allright, allright, you can buy me a beer later. Quick and dirty:
(Warning: this section contains Dunglish expressions.)
Peter Aerts (36) is one of the best fighters of our country. Already three times he won the final of the famous K-1 World Grand Prix in Japan. Saturday june 23 he's up against Remy Bonjasky, (also three time- champion) for the first time in his career. SBS6 will broadcast the K-1 WGP this saturday.
How is your Japanese?
Since 1993 I visit Japan like five times a year. In the mean time I can speak a little bit of the Asian languages. Most of the times I can understand a little of the conversations. It's true that I'm a big star in Japan. I can hardly walk around without bodyguards. But here in Holland I'm being recognized more often since Eurosport has been covering the sport.
What's your most ridiculous purchase ever?
A beautiful red and enormous English phone boot, which is in my garden. My wife doesn't like it at all. She thinks it's an ugly thing and it doesn't fit in with our pool and the rest of the garden.
Where were you on 9-11?
At the day of the attack on the Twin Towers I was in Japan. My doctor there called me to tell me the news and immediately I turned on CNN. I couldn't follow it well enough on Japanese television.
God or Darwin
Although I've been educated with catholicism, I believe in Darwin. I don't like religions much. There are too many wars going on about them.
Best movie ever?
The Godfather. But you have to be in the mood. If you want to watch all parts, you're busy for 8 hours.
What's your favorite song?
'My Boy' by Elvis Presley. By the way that's not my entrance song. I do my entrances for fights with 'Misirlou' performed by the California Guitar Trio. Better known as the intro of the movie Pulp Fiction.
Biggest annoyance?
I get annoyed by people who want to force upon their believes on me. Like Jehova's witnesses. Everyone should decide for themselves what they want to do with their lives, just don't bug me with it.
What's the most beautiful day of your live?
I should say: june 25 2001, the birthday of my children. Marciano and Montana are the most beautiful things in my life, but the birth itself... No, that was very stressful event. My wife Esther had a rough time giving birth.
What's in your last SMS?
Not anything sweet. Probably something business, like the time of training. I don't send a lot of SMSes. Only when I have something important and I can't get a hold of someone, I'll send a message instead.
Are you superstitious?
No, no no. Certainly not as a sportsman. You have to do it yourself. Train enough and be in good shape. But my wife and her family are superstitious. Esther is half Indonesian. They think it's important; don't sit on tables, exorcism. Pure nonsense.
What's the weirdest gossip you ever heard about yourself?
The more famous you get, the worse the gossip gets. You really have to watch what you do or say. The other day I was told that I'd hit on a friends girl, but I've never even talked to her.
What do you think about cheating?
Sex with another woman. Kissing? Naah, I don't think that's real adultery. But it's not right.
Where do you fantasize about?
All my dreams have come true: I have a sweet wife and beautiful children AND I've made work from my hobby. But oke, a fourth K-1 title!
What's your biggest nightmare?
That something happens with the twins or my stepdaughter Serena. When there are children involved, I'm a softie.
Biggest turnoff on a man?
Show-offs. Type bodybuilder with a weird and tight shirt around his biceps, watching very angrily.
Where don't you ever wanna be found dead {Dutch expression hard to translate I guess}
In Tunisia. Twelve years ago I was there on holiday with my ex and the men there we're touching her continuously. Even when I was around!

Why would he master English? Like he cares! There are way more important things in life than mastering English. I think if someone has a funny accent or make grammar faults, because English is his second or third language, it is kind of charming.
Funny that a lot of native English speakers in some cases demand non-native speakers to master 'their' langauge. While in most cases they ( native english speakers) only speak one language by themselves. Dutch people for instance, in general speak Dutch, English, German and French. Yeah mate, we can't master them all :)
The most important thing in my opinion is that people can communicate well and understand each other. I rather like Aerts because he dares to speak English while his English and pronouncination ( however the fuck that is spelled, lol)
is often not 100 %. Many people therefore are anxious to speak in English.
Someone like Schilt for instance is way better in English and yet he doesn't speak at all.
