Certainly seems that way:
Just got some disappointing news from Ian's trainer, this is what he said:
"Last week Ian was sparring in preparation for his upcoming fight with Andy Souwer, he did a jump knee & his sparring partner grabbed the knee, Ian came down on an angle landing awkwardly & has totally ruptured (broken) his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament)
he needs a recon on the knee as it is really unstable, he tried to train on it. I am sure he partially tore this ligament just before he fought kid Yamamoto, Ian went into that fight with a local anaesthetic
in the knee & gave Kid one of the hardest fights he has had.
Ian is devastated by this realisation but he has assured me he will come harder & hungrier than ever. Thanks to all the supporters on the Forums which always offer great support to Team Schaffa." -Mick Spinks
