I'm sure they are preparing him for the big stage by keeping him out of the tournament..... but damn.... it doesn't get much better than this kid. Just coming off a big win against Albert Kraus (who is still top 10 in my book, but on a slide as of late).

Tatsuji is the future of Japan. Why he get's little to no crowd response is beyond me. He only staggered the great Mike Zambidis at the end of their fight. Really out hustled Zam, but did not land the bigger power shots. (Kind of thought he won that fight and I'm a Zam fan).

Next year he must be allowed in the tournament rather he wins or looses the qualifier.... he's qualified every time he's fought. I think he's more dangerous than most of the field and it will be interesting to see what they do with him. He may become the next Masato or write his own chapter, he has the skills to win the big tournament though.

It depends if you count the judges or the actual fight. He did make some progress, but he didn't win over Kraus. When Masato and Kohiruimake retire he and Sato will fill the spots so I think the future looks pretty good for him...

Yeah I agree with Mofu that he lost to krause but I dont think tatsuji has done anything to be the number 2 in japan he has not improved since i frist saw him saw old style he really needs to clean up his defense casue at this point i much rather see more of Hayato and Yuya

He's too limited (right now).

As for the Kraus fight, Albert gave that one away - and he still scored enough points to win a decision. I'd still have given him a spot in the eliminations. Say whatever you want, but the judges gave him the fight and Kraus equally fought like crap.

If he's the future, it looks bleak to me. I've written rants about the Japanese kickboxing scene above welterweight and I'm not about to start another one right now - but things need to change.

Like I said last year...he is still using his infamous "my chin can take it" defense...and that doesn`t mean much when going to the cards or dealing with knees to said chin.

I also think he has a future and I too want to know what the next big thing out of Japan is going to be. I actually think I am more of a fan of Ogata being up there with Sato after Masato and Kohi are gone. Ogata has better defence then Tatsuji and hits harder. His only problem is workrate, but I think he is as tough as it gets.

Tatsuji has a future, but I would put him third behinf Sato and Ogata.

Then there's the fact that Ogata is older than Kohi and Masato. ;)

True, but he would be new to K-1 and they are more then likely on the way out. I am not asking for years and years of work, but I see him being a contender for atleast three years. Plus when Ogata was younger he wasn't ready. He is at his best right now.

But for all I know Shotboxing pays better then I think, and he isn't going anywhere nore does he have plans to fight in both.

Tatsuji is a very good talent. If he can improve the the next two or 3 years he might be very dangerous. Allthough I think he really needs to improve his kicks more and combining that with his punches. But he surely has good pontential.

Ogata's stated before that he's not really interested in K-1 MAX, and to be honest I think that after winning the S-Cup he pretty much accomplished what he was set out to do.

It was your wording though - if Ogata shows up again, you can bet that Kohi and Masato will still be around as well.

I guess I didn't realize that he is more looking to ride of into the sunset then capture the biggest crown in kickboxing. Well I do hope he makes it to Max for atleast a few tries.

As for Tat, the first step is always the Japan GP. I would really like to see him take the tourny that runs through Sato. If he does that, then I think he has arrived.

Then he has arrived yep, to the first station, but cos the final station is Buakaw and that's no child's play.

When your right, your right. The distance between Japan GP and beating the pound for pound champ is clearly shown in the Kohi and Sato massacres. It is a step over his peers, but not over the top.

Nice words. Are you a poet?

Can we replace the name Tatsuji in the title of this thread with HIROYA?

I have my moments, and that was one of them.
