"Objectively, I think it was a good event. We suffered a series of troubles, and two weeks ago it was like 'Can we really hold this event?' But usually, the more troubles you have, the more interesting the event becomes."

"I think we showed something different from the UFC, but at the same time, now I understand why the UFC have to do their events that way."

"MVP is Yoon Dong-Sik. And Johnnie Morton, he is actually good."

"Lesnar is great. It's hard to find an opponent for him, so we'll have to think about it."

"I don't think Sakuraba lost the match."

"The reason for him not being able to finish Royce was that you have to apply vaselline on your face under the rule here. It was yet another 'slippery hell' for him..."

"A rematch between the two? Of course, if they want it."

"I'd like to apologize to Lorenzo Fertitta and Dana White for what Dennis Rodman said about the UFC. I have a lot of respect for them, and don't think of them like what he said."

"I want to hold the next event (=Dynamite?) in the US again."

Incidentally, at this point (it hasn't been aired yet here), most Japanese fans seem to think that Dynamite USA bombed and are treating Tanikawa like a clown. I don't know what kind of expectations they had, though. I knew it was going to bomb, and it could've bombed even worse.

What did Rodman say? Tanikawa must have zero brains, did he hire the dj too?

I didn't think Sakuraba or Royce won they both were neutralized the whole time pretty much.

Based on the scoring, sure, I would give it to Royce, however, I think if Saku really wanted to he could have finished Royce in the time limit.

He didn't push the fight, if he had, I think he would have stopped or submitted Gracie.

I don't know. I think Saku lacks the weapons to finish a fighter like Royce.

I don't think it is the weapons, I think it is the gameplan.

With Royce and five minute rounds you have to bombard him and press him early; Royce routinely starts late.

I don't know what he was thinking out there, even if it was close throughout.

I'm probably the biggest Royce fan in the world too... so I am glad Royce won... but I think even if Sakuraba did his occasional "Saku flurry!" he would have taken it.

Saku looked like he just wasn't in the mood to fight, but near the end of the fight he was getting in the mood, but by then it was over and he had lost on points.

Man I must have been watching through my Saku glasses, but it was a shock when they announced Royce as the winner. I had dominant positions and the only meaningful shot of the fight down for Saku. Royce had the more menacing facial expression though.

Dong rocks, 1-4 baby! I'm always entertained when he fights and rooting for him, except perhaps his first foray against Saku.

I have always liked Dong.

Shiru post-Dynamite USA quotes

"I was very happy that the Dong finally won a fight."

"The most irritating thing off the night was the DJ. They should have hired the crazy ass Pride lady instead."

"It was a decent show, some production mistakes, you could hardly hear the entrance music and I didn't like Glazer or Goldberg."

"I had it 2-1 for Saku against Royce, but neither did almost anything during the whole fight so the one who lost couldn't complain. They have to adapt to the rules, if it is 15 minutes then fight a 15 minute fight."

"It just isn't Pride :( "

From what I have heard, for people there the production was outstanding. For those watching on TV it sucked.

And PRIDE's complete production was set up and even originally performed by the K-1 guys.

Hmm, I didn't think of it from perspective. It really came off badly on the TV, but all of that stuff may have actually worked well for the LIVE audience.

That is what I have been hearing. And the camera/broadcast team was mainly EliteXC and the Showtime guys from what I`ve heard.

Yeah, it was probably great if you were there in person, but on tv the commentators microphones changed volume sometimes, you could hardly hear the entrance music and the commentating team was bad (because of Goldberg and Glazer) etc.

The DJ was really bad, I was suprised they didn't throw him out after a while, he said his name and "make some noise" hundreds of times during the event.

Rodman shouldn't have been allowed to touch the torch either. I love shows like these, like that group with the drums and all that, but the tv production team did a bad job this time.
