First paragraph is the abstract. What do you think about this. I think the hoax was a brilliant way to give more attention to the lack of organ donors in the country (or with all the media attention, the whole world). Like somone said 'there are no losers'.

I am not exactly conservative when it comes to a lot of things but I wasn't happy with the entire concept and I watched about 15 minutes of the show and it confirmed what I was afraid of. How can someone chose between three young people that if they had a new kidney and a bit of luck would have a complete life in front of them? It was really painful to look at these three contestans between whom I wouldn't want to choose If my kidney was on the line.

I turned to other things only to tune in just the same at the end of the show and I was surprised and it pleased me to see it was a hoax and what they were on about...

Speaking of myself I carry an unnoficial donor statement in my wallet since '97 and didn't hesitate to officially registrate when I was sent this form that everyone gets in Holland around their 18th birthday. I'd be happy to improve someones live or even save it when I die for whatever reason.

Schande.

I never watch BNN, BNN is a hoax of its own.

I think you should take into consideration what effect all the public money had that was put into getting people to aware of the lack of donors. Years and years of informercials did not pull the peoples attention as much as it should have to solve a very public problem that involves thousands of people who are doomed to die young and live in agony due to kidney failure just because loads of people are too ignorant to even make a choice. Just making that choice is so damn important regardless of what your decision is.

I really wouldn't call the show nonsense even though I got fooled terribly in the process. With deceiving most of the world they managed to get a far greater exposure than it would have got if they played it fair. And if you're talking money only you should be happy because they got an optimal result by achieving global coverage....

Well, I hear you on the good cause of the show. But then again Holland has the higest rate of donors in the world. If you take a look at the East European countries they have something like 0.5 %-1% donors of the poulation. Holland almost 40 %. A lot of Dutch organs are transported to those county. Perhaps not kidneys, because there is a high need for that.

BNN made a vulgair show of something serious as organ donation.
