Houston turned it into a sloppy, dirty boxing style brawl... Jardine was happy to oblige him, but damn, that Houston dude was VICIOUS on the inside!

Dirty boxing was ALL Houston for sure. That first one that seemed to Rock Jardine landed right on the temple too so I wouldn't be surprised to find out Jardine was running on auto-pilot from then on.

Another fighter with sloppy striking got taught a hard lesson.

my jaw was on the floor for the whole fight, Houston must hit like a truck watch the first uppercer that drops Keith down it lifts him up off his feet.

I've never seen Keith Jardine man-handled and KO'd like that so convincingly. This Houston Alexander guy has lived up the hype and the entire 205lbs division just got a rude awakening.

That was awesome. It was also a good thing the knee didn't DQ Alexander or something like that because Jardine was clearly done long before it landed.

The only thing I could say at the end was "wow" "wow?" "Wow!?"

Not only good shots and intensity, but a decent shin. His "I slipped" comment was total shit....he got tagged and fell but recovered to whip some butt.

So with Houston and soudjoukou, there will potentially be more competition, hopefully we will not see Forrest Griffin for a long time in the octagon!

yeah me too, at something like 6.00 am I was standing up like an hysterical mofo in front of my comp!

This is the year of the upset, for me Jardine was kinda like Rashad: not VERY exciting but so hard to beat!

I'm glad someone else saw the knee.

It didn't end the fight, it was spur of the moment, but still clearly illegal.

I called this fight though, without ever seeing Houston or knowing anything about him.

If you watch with the good angle it doesnt connect with the head (from what I saw last night, I have to say it was very laaaaaate), so its ansolutely not an illegal strikes! Btw the replay in slow motion is necessarry to make it clear, my first reaction was "WTF, please no DQ, it's not the strikes that KOed Jardine"!

That knee was as legal as the kick that Ruslan Karaev threw at Badr Hari in their first fight. He was on his way down but he wasn't yet and it didn't land on the head. I watched it over and over on their replays, and Houston's knee was to the body. (Very high on the body)

But the thing is you are watching over and over again on a replay and through slow mo and not in real time.

It just looked bad.

Referees are NOT robots.
I thought they were stopping for a DQ, which would be unfortunate, since Houston had already beaten Keith.

other shots landed, but those 3 uppercuts is what killed Jardine for good. all 3 landed super clean. perfect shots.

The first thing I thought after watching the fight was: "Alexander vs. Sokoudjou--make it happen". They're both at 205 lbs, they've both come from nowhere, they've both caused upsets in the first round. One is 7-1, the other is 4-1. Perfect.

I was yelling my head off. That fight was my highlight of the night. Houston was supposed to get assraped and SMOKED Jardine. Awesome!!

Exactly why I said it was legal, it was to the body.

Nice .gif! I'm surprised Jardine didn't go airborne after a hit like that. This Houston guy takes dirty boxing to a whole new level. Randy Couture would be pleased.

One question: what the fuck was Jardine dioing with his hands early in the fight? He looked like an idiot, clearly gave Alexander no respect and paid the price.

About as good a short fight as I've ever seen.

But something tells me Alexander won't be able to repeat the trick with anyone else. Very heavy-handed, but everyone knows that now.

I pretty much agree....unless they give him a banger (Chuck?? lol) he is going to spend a lot of fights oj his back from here on out.
