Assuming this actually goes ahead (and we're still waiting for that reality show of theirs) this could be the greatest sports movie since ................................................ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0428662/

I can't believe the designer of that page was willing to take credit for it.

Surely the world needs yet more terrible films based in London that glorify criminals?

It must of brought the house down when it was "officially anounced at canne"!!

They need to turn the mockney level up to the max on this thing, they should get Guy Richie on board. He's into BJJ (was purple belt at Master Team UK last time I trained) so I assume he likes mma.

Surely can't be any worse than Revolver anyway....

David West (who covers shows in the london/South area) did an interview with my man DoD about the film.

It's on www.fcfighter.com
http://www.fcfighter.com/news/May%202007

FCF: Will you and Andy appear in the movie?

DD: Apparently so, they couldn’t do without us. This is the hook for the film – if the fighting is real, maybe everything else is too. Of course it’s going to be fictional but it gets the crowd thinking, Jesus, these are right nasty bastards. People may say, don’t bad mouth MMA. It’s not, we’re making a fictional film and it will attract hundreds more people to the sport. They’re on about a worldwide release, it was only going to have a British release but now MMA is so big around the world. It’s not Americanized, it’s pure British.

It is hard to dislike DoD, he is a very passionate guy, and he spends every second of his day helping Cage Rage, and even when there was a big CW/CR feud, you had to respect him for that. I guess the reasons why we clashed so much is that we just have very different ideas of how to promote the sport. Like it or not...he's doing pretty damn well for him self at the min, so maybe he is doing something right

A double order of media training is still on the menu for the table for two, however.

Thanks for the interview.

Judging from Vertigo Films' track record I'm not sure this film will be the best way to promote the sport.
