July 14th 2007

1. HW:
ButterBean vs Tengiz Tedoradze (nice HW fight)

2. LHW:
Mario Sperry vs Lee Hasdell (Why?)

3.
TBA vs TBA (my personal pick for FOTN, as both opponents are so evenly matched....)

4. HW:
Edson Drago vs Gary Turner (If the previous fight doesn't steal the show this one might, good bout -although I wish Turner was built up a bit more)

5. HW:
Herb Dean vs Dave Legeno (Herb is a HW I figured him for LHW)

6. HW:
Mark Buchannan vs James McSweeny

7. LHW:
Paul Chahoon vs Mark Epstein

8. FW:
Ronnie Mann vs Robbie Olivier

9. WW:
Marios Zaromskis vs Ross Mason

10. WW:
Ross Pointin vs Dean Bray (poor guy)

11. MW:
Joe Mac vs Bad Boy (if I was going for a stage name I'd hope I could get a bit more creative...)

12. WW:
Michael Johnson vs Damian Riccio

13. LHW:
Tom Watson vs Ed Smith

LOL.

Drago-Turner is going to be interesting.

Herb Dean as in the referee, I assume?

D. Riccio fights again!?
I agree, Drago-Turner is going to be the best fight in the night.

I am not sure what I think of Smiler as a MMA fighter, simply because I love him as a kickboxer and want him to get his shot in K-1. But he is a fighter as his occupation so any work is good work.

Is the McSweeny's fight kickboxing again?

Is the McSweeny's fight kickboxing again?

I'm just guessing it is because his opponent is a kickboxer too as far as I know.

I always wondered why Smiler did not choose the mma path earlier on. He has the experience in a lot of different martial arts and could be a force with the right cross training. In a fight with Drago he is in danger of succombing to the agression and have the ref stop it rather than getting ko'd. If he doesn't end up underneath a rampaging Drago I think Drago is in for a beating :). Also with the emphasis on strikers in the HW divison of CR I think Gary could really be a star there only he lacks the tattoo's, deep rough voice, disregard of defence, smacktalking pre-fight rants, swinging for the fences and so forth.... He has got a thick skull (he rather refers to it as his tough frame though :))

I wonder if Tedoradze is going to try to be sensible and get the fight to the ground and go for the gnp tko or something. I must admit Butterbean is looking better and better when it comes to MMA, virtually impossible to ko and the stereo type hw cr fighter is not in to submissions...
