I hope this will be the last fight in which Dana is introducing Mirko to UFC audience. Let us see him in some real action...

"Gabriel "Napao" Gonzaga, who moved to Ludlow last summer from Rio de Janeiro, is 3-0 on the UFC's pay-per-view events and holds a 7-1 overall mixed martial arts record..."
As soon as I read that last sentence I instantly closed that page.
Way to go UFC, ruin some great potential matchups with the best fighter you have and spit into his integrity aswell by matching him up against amateurs again.

Well it's not like they have Hiromitsu Kanehara money so I guess he has to fight a can this time.

LOL... I can't believe they're making such a match....are you kidding....out of all the UFC Heavyweights they have signed they come up with Gonzaga?
It's like this, He can't stand and trade with Cro Cop....and what happens when he can't take Cro-Cop down.

Kinda smart move IMO.
Dana does not want to risk Mirko being de-railed before he has a chance to whip on Sylvia....so why risk a dangerous fight when the title match is wht they are really paying for?

It's gonna be interesting. Gonzaga is dangerous but Mirko will destroy him with kicks. Mirko's sprawl is great so it's not gonna be easy for Gonzaga to take him down,IMO that's not gonna happend.
Cro Cop by KO, sec. round

I'm a bit disapointed with this really. I was hoping they would build up Gonzaga a bit more as I think he could end up being quite a dangerous contender. He has good striking and a very good ground game, but unfortunately he is out of his league in this one.
Crocop vs Kongo would have been much better.

From today's edition of Jutarnji list:
"Never heard of this guy. If UFC thinks that Gonzaga is an ideal opponent for me, I have no objections. I am not choosing my opponents, but I have no reason to complain that my road to the title will be easier than I expected."
Sounds a bit arrogant, but he knows its an important fight. I bet he will take Gonzo seriously.

Am surprised anyone would complain about this. Gonzaga is 1000x more credible an opponent than Eddie Sanchez. But at the same time, Zuffa were never going to push Gonzaga as a genuine star, given his style and lack of being American. If he wins he makes his career in one night. But even if he loses, it means CroCop has beaten a credible UFC HW. I think its smart booking.

I find it slightly amusing that his only loss was against Werdum.

True, there was even talk that Gonzaga would face Sylvia for the belt before Randy came back.

Napao has a lil sub chance! Its not a very easy fight but CC should take it easily if you remind how he escaped Coleman TD and Mino+Barnett ground game!

just let the bloodbath commense and be happy to watch it. gonzaga is a credible fighter but he isnt gonna do anything to cc. he will get thrown to the side or sprawled if he tries to take it to the floor. and his striking wont get him by for sure. easy win for cc here over someone who under normal circumstances would be a good challenge.

It would be funny if they keep matching up CC with no-hopers until he finally scores a LHK knockout.

Completely agree with these guys. This has potential and ultimately that's all anyone can ask for. The guy's out of his league sure but if he doesn't shit his pants off the bell it could go as far as the 2nd until Mirko finally tears him up. Then he and Sanchez can swap stories.

Gonzaga is legitimate fighter, but he lacks experience (but who in UFC roster doesn't, beside Arlovski and Sylvia, and Vera is out off UFC probably) to fight someone like CroCop.
