the litteral reason I get....I just cannot see how the energy-black hole could have ever been seen to be worth money like that

WFA were desperate? and/or foolish? and UFC see somebody they can build for rematches with Bonnar and Franklin maybe? still, he's WAY overpaid.

While I love to hate Lyoto, getting him rematches with Bonner and Franklin....whether they win them or not, wont make either look good. Lyoto is good enough to hang in their and bore with the best of them :-)

crocop and rampage are making good money

$30,000 for Sanchez, not bad. I'm still annoyed with Edgar and Martin making less money than the guys they beat though. UFC really needs to do something about that.

You must really love that guy. Supposedly he looked "impressive" against whoever he fought.

He beat hoger.

But neither of them are really the most exciting fighters and neither are really "liked"

Three cheers for looking impressive for the frst time since 2004 when he managed to submit a fighter that had never fought or trained for MMA before. Yeah, I`m really excited and totally wrapped up in the hype!

I still remember his great fights against Greco and Penn.

^^ LOL

I enjoyed his fight against Greco up until the final bell.....I was just so excited at the prospect of Greco nailing him with a Branko-esk rush ;-)

Very impressive, he looked like a legit, potential top 10 205 lber, definetly the best he's looked in his career.

I know you don't like him boobs, but I think you should watch the fight, he doesn't even look the same. Maybe he can be another Gomi, he was also criticized heavily early in his career.

I will watch it when I get the time (MAX is far more interesting for me right now) as watching anyone beat on Hoger will be entertaining. If he looks decent I'll even give him props. I personally hate fighters that don't fight to win by stopping the other fighter though. Cote pissed me off with his fight too, for the same reasons. Lyoto is happy to squeek by in general and when I am spending my money to watch a professional fighter, I expect to be entertained in one way or another.

Agreed.

Pretty interesting decision by Cote to play it so safe, I guess he didn't realize that the reason the UFC kept bringing him back (despite his losses) was because he was exiciting. His fight against Doerksen is still one of my favorite fights today, he'll probably be relegated to a prelim in his next bout.

Yeah, Cote really lost the plot I think. To some extent you can't blame him as UFC did put a greater weight on the fighters results than their entertainment value for quite while, though that seems to have been changing the last year or so. I can understand the guy just wanted to finally get a win, but frankly if that is how he is going to go into fights he SHOULD be relegated to the prelims.

What "flat fee" means?

Loyto isn't overpaid if he get $18 000+winning bonus $18 000. That is much than what Liddell, Couture, Ortiz, Rambage gets.

I believe it means there is no "win bonus" for that fighter.

What "flat fee" means?

I think 'flat fee' means the basic amount they received. There's all kinds of other payments, bonuses and extras that UFC fighters get which aren't accounted for in the payoff figures lodged with the NSAC.
