Bloody hell, Mirko made the list in every category. kakutougi.info folks rock; very satisfying list.

Can't see how Sakuraba got any votes as comeback fighter of the year when he didn't make a comeback.

At first I thought Aoki's landslide for submission win was because of how fresh in everyone's minds it was. Then I slapped myself round the face and said "he gogoplata'd Joachim Hansen, you idiot". A deserving winner.

Noguiera-Barnett I was my pick for fight of the year but am surprised the rematch drew so little (basically none) attention.

But how anyone could vote for anyone other than UFC for Promotion of the Year is beyond me. What else did they have to do?

Good to see Chris Horodecki get some attention. He's been one of the most impressive things about the IFL.

One thing this vote made me realize is... a year is a long time, and tons of fights happen in a year. This year I'm keeping a little text file on my desktop to keep short notes on certain fights or fighters. As I read some of the results, I was like "Doh, how did I forget that?!"

Thats a really good idea. There's just SO much MMA these days its almost impossible to keep up with everything.

So true.....it is like in K-1 the first official event last year was in March, and that was when Peter Graham landed the Rolling Thunder in the closing seconds of the fight, KO'ing Hari badly enough to have him taken away to the hospital, and breaking his jaw. How some people forgot this is beyond me, but when righting out your votes more recent ones tend to stick out I guess.
