Thought a reversal of the other thread would make for some good discussion!

For me it'd have to be David Terrell. Honestly, I'd never heard of him pre-UFC 49 but even before that fight I decided I was a fan of his. No idea why, just liked the sound of the guy! Then when he sparked Lindland who wasn't exactly high on my popularity stake at the time, it made me a fan for life, despite his loss to Tanner and the pulling out of various fights. I'm on the Terrell bandwagon for life. Still believe if he comes in healthy he can beat anyone at 185lbs in the world.

So who for you guys?

I think Kazayuki Fujita.

Usually I hate wrestlers but I like how his personality comes through in his fights. The Yvel disaster aside he's never disappointed me, and I think the side choke he got in his first mma fight is one of the greatest looking subs in the history of the sport. He used the same against Takayama I think.

I guess I have a couple of fighters like that.

Don Frye is one I always have and always will cheer for...despite the fact he really should have retired long ago.

I'd say Wes Sims but I know why I love him - he's such great comedy.

Is a tough subject as I can explain at great length why I like the fighters I do, even if, like Sims, they may seem odd choices to most. I mean, I could write at least 1000 words about why Matt Lindland is awesome. Even if no bugger'd read it, lol.

If I had to pick the oddest one - Hiromitsu Kanehara, maybe.

Hunt. He has done nothing really but chase Mirko and push Fedor in mma, but how can you not like the tough SOB?

Evan Tanner is one of my favourite MMA fighters, I don't find Lindland boring at all and I always pull for Kanehara too. The underdogs need some support :)

Whoa. I thought I was the only one who misses David Terrell. The crazy aggressive achilles lock he pulled in ADCC is one of my all time favorites :). Yeah he's not the best sub expert or highlight reel KO artist but I would like to see more of him.

Not the best sub expert? The guy who's unbeaten in grappling and never had a point scored on him (I think)?

Heh - the fanboy in me comes out again! :)

LOL great topic, I guess I have two, Alistar Overeem and Padro Rizzo. Rizzo loses to every great wrestler he faces, but to me he was the first true stand up heavyweight champ. i even feel he surpassed Marco, which is crazy talk inmost circles, but I wouldn't be posting if I didn't think it was a little weird myself. As for Overeem, if there is a WGP light heavyweight championship right now, and you put Silva, Shogun, Chuck, Jackson, Tito, Forrest, or whoever in the field and I will take Overeem as the favorite. I don't know why, but he is my guy at 205.
