...and not Badr Hari.

To clear this up and give credit to previous sources, a matchup with Badr Hari have been first proposed by FEG.

Cyril is ok to fight Hari, but with his trainer they thought he should do another fight first so he can test his leg and see what the recovering does in real fight conditions.

As both Cyril, Hari and FEG are interested in this matchup, you can be sure it will happen a little later.
Cyril just want to be ready when this fight will come so he can give the best of himself, and not step in the ring with only 1 valid leg like he did for his last fights.

Now about Mitsugu Noda, we know little except he have a Karate background, a lot of heart, did the opening fight of the last's Final Elims show and won it by R1 KO.
He'll probably give all he have because it's an opportunity for him to get a name, so even if he's not a top10 fighter, we respect him and don't underestimate him.

I hope you guys are not too much desappointed, but as I said FEG seems interested in Cyril vs Hari, so expect to see that matchup coming in a near future anyway.

Makes perfect sense. In fact it would not be smart first fight back to go fighting a rising star like Hari currently is.

Great news. I'm still very worried about Cyril's leg. No offense, but I hope he can easily dispose of this Noda guy.

It is great news indeed and a smart move from Cyrils trainer, but I am still worried as well

Right now the leg is ok, there's some pain only after the training sessions, not during the runnings or fights.
But still, it's training fights, so that's why this next fight is necessary.

Hell yeah, I love me some Cyril. I hope the leg is 100% and that he shows no ill effect of being out so long.

Strange...I heard that Cyril may fight in Romania, if Big Daddy Goodridge won't be able to come(I hope it's not the case).

I've seen Noda fight a couple of times, both KO wins if I remember correctly. He is being groomed as the next big Japanese heavyweight. If he doesn't get intimidated by Abidi's reputation, it should make for a good fight. Noda has some potential.

The potential of Noda is making this an interesting matchup for me, besides its a good chance for Cyril to adjust to fighting so we can see him at his best against Hari.

Im mainly just happy to see Cyril back at 100% again! :)

Thank you for the info Michael, I'll transmit it to Cyril and his trainer.

And I'm happy to see so many of you interested by his comeback, even after such a long time of inactivity : )

I want Cyril to win, but I for sure want too get a good showing from Noda. I really think the key to K-1's interest lyes in the hope of a hometown champion, and if Noda is the next big thing I hope he lives up to the hype.

At C/D class he has looked very good... now he takes the step up to B class against Abidi... he is far from A class opponents yet, Abidi will be a solid test to see where he stands and if he can put away a man who is very hard to put away, and take Abidi's best hits and stand up to them.

And before anyone arks up about be saying Cyril is B class... well, at the moment he is outside of the K-1 A-list guys: Semmy, Sefo, Glaube, LeBanner, Aerts, etc... with time and some luck against injury hopefully Cyril will get back to the A-list. I hope to see him there.

Who are Cyril's sparring partners?

I honestly don't know, but I know it's a problem and I don't think he has specific sparring partners... just because there's not many fighters of his level in Marseilles.

He sometimes fights at the French Foreign Legion when he wants to face some really strong guys, but it's not on a regular basis.

It will be the big 'test fight' for Cyril Abidi. And it's very wise not to fight Hari at first after such dramatic injuries.
