Ive been keeping a list of ALL K-1 and other KOs and knockdowns relating to Headkicks. An interest of sorts... we all see KOs from punches, knees and low kicks... but a headkick KO isnt something that happens everyday. Lots of skill there

In my list Aerts leads the list with 15+ KO with this
Hoost in second with 7 or 8 (including a spinning heel kick KO to Mark Russels temple)

Latest word says Ignashov lost due to either a shin or knee injury. There's no word if it was from a strike, self inflicted or accidental... All which is known is that he had to quit the fight. It just sucks, I thought this would be even better than the first fight, now the Breggy seems much more confident and agressive nowadays...

I just got back and Iggy was counted out in the third round by a foot injury after Breggy blocked a kick. There was word of Iggy having broken a few bones in his foot but that probably wasn't the case after all.

Breggy was not really more agressive than before. He was more cautious and obviously had practiced a lot on keeping his chin down and his guard up. I'm not sure but Bjorn looked more muscled than before.

Iggy toyed a bit with Breggy and wasn't really making much effort to end the fight, he had some flurry's. All and all enough to rake in the descision, A bit dissapointing.

And oh @ Elpresidente: There was only one high kick knockdown in the entire evening It was made in the Women c class up to 64 kg's Muay Thai by Jorien "jojo" Baars against Anna zieglerova from the Tsjech republic. Jojo was litterally mauling her opponent and after the high kick the towel was thrown.

I`m surprised the fight with Breggy was still going in the third round. And now sad that Iggy vs Remy (I was dreaming, I know) cannot happen in Korea next month.....

Yes, Ignashov has a tendency to show on (really) small tournements and then putting the main K1 career at risk like this, with a open vacancy against the champ, he should be ready I guess... I really admire how he enjoys fighting and how he doesn't have that "too good for you" attitude, but it's clear he himself knows he can't give everything on those occasions, and he often runs the risk of having really disappointing performances (like in Croatia last year), or having injuries like this one...
I remember that fight against Hari, I think a couple of weeks before a major tournement in Paris for a place in the semis - you admire a guy who is confident enough for taking such a fight, but as the figth went on and Hari kept bugging and annoying him, you almost feel like he's getting frustted because he has to risk more dangeorous moves to get the job done.

Don't know, maybe it's good for his confidence to play in small fights with little at stake... But it could also be a better idea, specially as time passes and the K1 title isn't getting any closer, to focus on fewer but more meaningful fights? :( Guess I'm just upset he lost by injury that could put him away for a good time.

Ignashov obviously sprained his Knee. Remember Team NZ already talking about him having injured a knee before his fight vs Kaokrai...i just hope he didnt tore his ACL or something as worse and a few weeks off will be enough.

Zak vs. Vader

This was wat you can call a fight that seriously sucked posteriour. There were three culprits Imo. The first one was Dave Vader, the second one was Ladislav zak and the third were the rules.

My explanation:

Vader: I had no idea what his game-plan was. It was obvious that Zak wanted to take the larger Dave down to which Vader only defended by sprawling. Other than that he did almost nothing, he pinned Zak into a corner without a strike who shot after a moment or an attempted strike by Vader.

Zak: Near the end of the fight someone in the Crowd yelled "Kukident!!!" which is some sort of substance to glue your fake set of teeth in your mouth. Zak clearly needed it because he kept on loosing his mouth piece on and on and on. It earned him a warning which lost him the fight.

Rules: As we all know The Netherlands are a stand up minded country and so are the mma rules. They have a ground limit of one minute, if someone gets under the ropes they get a stand up and the refs are really eager to break up the clinch. Also there is this point system. If you score a knockdown (yep we have those too in mma) you get one point, get a warning and you lose a point. If it';s 0-0 after two rounds there will be a third after which you'll get a judges desiscion

This meant for this fight that the few times Zak managed to get Dave down (he even mounted him and started pounding away) and they got under the ropes the whole time consuming process described above would start all over again.

Rember that Zak got the warning right? This meant Vader had 0 points after two rounds and zak had minus one, result: descision for vader. :(

I thought so too at first but it happened right behind a beam of the construction over the ring so I couldn't see all of it. It happened pretty quick and when the ringspeaker (it happened right infront of his face) said he had probably broken his foot I chose to believe that story, the more that Breggy was celebrating happily which is kind of unsportive if iggy slipped and twisted his knee and I heared is that Bjorn is a nice guy.

Thanks Amron.
I'm very much anxious about his knee. :(

I think that Chinuk tends to book a match too much.

Zak vs. Vader

i have same info from Zak's friends

Free Fight rules in Holland are shitty. When i saw some freefights from Arena shows, i was wondering what are they doin' :)

i've heard that "Shark" trained clinches and knees, and now he i in a top shape
and "Semtex" is still great fighter with great condition and "durability"...

It was an all out war, Mes was always on top but there was some sort of Underdog Atmosphere among the crowd. Mes also got quite irritated cuz whenever he smells blood he goes in for the kill like a true shark, He had that idea a couple of times but Sem Braan just wouldn't go down and kept on using his low kicks and everything he could throw at him. There were even some moments that it felt like there was an upset in the air but Mes is also known as a tough customer and came back strong. The last round Remy couldn't stay in his seat and ran up to the ring and started shouting instructions to Semtex (his teammate).

It is always nice to see two fighters in top shape who both pack and can take some beating. Some people said that Sem was be in the deep end of the pool too early but he fought like a lion and showed that he is a top notch Dutch fighter at 76 kg's

Although Mes took home the decision the real winner was the crowd (including me).

On his training, I did not specifically noted that but it's the most sensible thing to do after his loss against Penjunsuk
