Props to swope @bk
In a recent interview, Aleksander Emelianenko spoke of his plans to move to the UFC.

Emelianenko disclosed that his management are currently in negotiations with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and are working on getting him a multi-fight contract that could see him fighting for the UFC Heavyweight title soon.

OMG! The Russians are going to take over the U.S. This almost feels like the Rocky IV movie except...there is no Rocky around.

Lot of potential for exciting matches. Quite contrary to popular opinion I dont think this is a cake-walk for Alex at all. Sylvia, Monson, Vera, Pano de Pano, all can present a big challenge for Alex.

I wonder how they will get around Alex' criminal record; isnt this why Lee Murray could never get a visa to fight in the U.S?

Yep, that is the stumbling block I guess.

Murray always had trouble. Hunt had visa problems and couldn't sort them out for 32. Bisping has visa problems now and his fight was cancelled. Alec supposedly did 5 years (which considering his age sounds like someone is exaggerating), so there could be trouble.

Great news, hopefully everything goes well. It would shake things up a bit in UFC's heavyweight division and Aleks would be immediately a contender for the title. Aleks vs Sylvia, Vera or Arlovski are interesting match-ups.

If Aleks can;t make it they might as well just try to get Fedor over...lol

Hmm the same news are on many MMA sites but they don't tell the source. I think the source is this interview (http://www.sherdog.net/forums/showthread.php?t=454661). (Russian source? (http://www.mmaru.org/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=8))

But if they are going to disappoint us by not letting him fight in US, well, here's Aleksander dryhumping a chick and saying "Hey buddy, life goes on! It's like trying to hump while she's taking a dump!"

I wonder how Bisbing got into TUF, but now they managed to screw up his VISA.

Aleksander in UFC would tell us a lot about the true quality of Sylvia/Arlovski/Monson, but I think its just the newest item in the long line of "Pride to UFC"-rumours that never happened.

If that actually happened, it would be awesome...I am just not holding my breath. Aren't Chuck and Silva fighting this month?

I heard from a pretty decent source it was simply an office fuck-up on Zuffa's end.

A lot of good people have visa problems.

Carlos Newton had problems.

I had problems getting into brazil before.

It's a simple misunderstanding most of the time.
