What did you guys think of the event overall, and any specific fights?

seems the only belt holder in PRIDE to have never finished an opponent is already gunning for Hendo's belt, may be fighting on the Feb USA card, and wants revenge on Filho when the timing is right.

filho will armbar him again. i didnt enjoy the event. as much as the event was hyped, i was very, very let down.

I thought the event was decent. Like I said at BK, we've been spoiled by the quality of recent Bushido shows that we didn't know what to think of this one. The GP finals saved the event from disaster. With that said, I still enjoyed it and laughed my ass off when Maeda got subbed.

Plus, it was good to see Aoki fight, regardless if his opponent was a can.

Minowa/Gunn, Kang/Misaki and Obiya/Buscape were good, the rest were not good/decent.

That'll be interesting. He'll likely beat Hendo in the rubber match, I don't know how they'll be able to keep Kang or Filho from taking the belt away from him.

I don't think it's too out there to think Misaki can beat a fresh Kang. Filho though...

Team Rascal had a poor showing.

I can see people starting to turn on Ishida. Not really his fault though. He needs elbows.

When Aoki fights Melendez, it's going to look like Saku x Rampage. Guess which one will be which.

The final was understandable on a buisness end.

This event was a great example of how an exciting card on paper doesn't always mean it's going to be an exciting event. Maybe the GP matches and Gomi/Aurelio had too much at stake to be fast paced exciting fireworks...

I'm starting to think that the GP format lowers the potential of some matches. Tournament matches usually aren't as good as they would be outside a tournament. The fighters care too much about staying in the tournament and try not to lose. This GP also showed how injuries can ruin the whole thing.

I don't know how they'll be able to keep Kang or Filho from taking the belt away from him.

That will be simple.

It will be 18 months to 2 years before either get a shot at him.

Bushido 5 was better than this. I like close fights but 9 decision is too much.

While 6.5 hour ppv's piss me off to no end, I am enjoying the fact that a lot of the same people that bitched about PRIDE fights being too one-sided and just "entertainment, no sport" are now bitching that this event was boring despite it being one of the most competative ever. lol

Just watched the event and it was the first time I used "alt + ->" in a Pride event.

Not bad but surely far from beeing one of the better Bushidos.

I think Bielkheden did quite OK, considering this was his first fight in Pride, first fight in 73kg (normally 83/76) and against Ishida. Itīs hard to not be taken down by Ishida (both times after landning big shots) and Ishida is furious on the ground, constantly moving and switching positions. It could have been a great fight if the ref. had stood them up. So I really hope Bielkheden gets another fight.

as many have said...bushido has spoiled us haha. i was expecting this show to be good...the lighter weights typically put on a show. unfortunately, i felt like bushido 13 was lacking.

i watched the even w/ a bunch of friends...we started off all energetic and excited...then we were just kinda sitting there for the rest of the event haha. i felt like i was just waiting for the last 3 fights and it was taking FOREVER to get there. what was it...like 9 decisions out of 12 fights? i hated it...i don't mind decisions at all, but because there was 9 in a card w/ 12 fights...it really really dragged.

best fight for me was the final...awesome competitive fight...gomi/aurelio blehhh. i used to be a big ishida fan but i feel like he's going to win the title and continue to have decision after decision after decision...his relentless takedowns/gnp is going to get tired really fast i think.

i'm still dissapointed that we didn't get to see Aoki vs Melendez BUT if it does go on for NYE than that's even better. also, it was nice to watch Aoki just school French haha. Aoki said in his pre-fight interview that this match would be a good chance to go for a flying sub haha...and he did it...very impressive. speaking of which, i'm surprised not a lot of people have mentioned that it was a "flying" triangle...Aoki jumped up for it but took it down slowly so it looked weird but it definitely was a flying triangle.

anyways...bushido 14 will be great! haha

His last name is hard to spell and you can confuse his first name with someone else, you cant get confused with Gunn...

I'm having some trouble understanding how Marcus won the fight like some people, including editors, claim. Anybody care to explain?

Filho/Henderson for the title, and Misaki/Winner for unification, please. Kang/Misaki 2 would also be nice. To be honest, I just want to see somebody stop Filho, and I think somebody from the group Hendo/The Law/Anderson S./Kang could do it. Wrestlers being the stronger candidates. Rich Franklin fell quite far down in the division in my opinion.

I am with TheDude. I think Fihlo can be beaten by Lindland or possibly Hendo or Kang. As Lindland probably isn't going to Pride, it's up to Kang or Henderson.

Franklin or Anderson would have a slim chance but I don't see them in Pride anytime soon and Franklin's stock has plummeted.

Honestly too bad Lindland can't get in there cause he will own that division. I don't see anyone touching Lindland at 185 right now...he just gets better and better every time I see him.

Aoki vs. Mcgee (HW)!

Ishida vs. Kim (MW)!

Kikuta vs. Costa (LW)!

That page is a bit off to say the least.

It's odd as MMA has the tendency to bore me to tears more often than not recently but I really enjoy Ishida's fights. He nearly killed Fukumoto with a beautiful German suplex and pulled off a mighty fine transition against the slippery Togashi back in Shooto. His fight against Aurelio was epic as well. Seems like he has the same concerns as you folks as he attempted some different moves in the fight against Bieklheden.

I'd rather watch Ishida fight his heart out than to have to endure another Gomi/Aurelio encounter that doesn't end in the same fashion as the first.

yeah, i'm not sure how i feel yet haha. i think i was just fed up w/ the fights and all the decisions and then when ishida came on i was like 'great, here comes another' haha.

i'll wait until his next fight haha...because yeah, i've always enjoyed him in shooto and i've liked all his fights in pride.

good call though, i did notice he went for a few submissions in his last fight...that's a start...it seems like he never goes for subs at all so it was nice to see a few attempts.

i think i'd like to see hansen as the next lw champ in pride...i don't know why, i just do haha. or kawajiri actually...whoever wins in their rematch ha.

The PPV was 6 and a half hours !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There would be riots in the UK in there was a 6 and a half hour show. Even i start to get bored now at shows if the fights are poor.

That's waaay too long
