Looking forward to this, I definitely think that Chuck can win but I've been having some thoughts otherwise. I think he looked very sloppy vs Babalu while Tito has not been anything other than dominant vs his fights with Shamrock.

Babalu and Shamrock are two very differently skilled fighters. Babalu had 10 wins in a row when facing Liddell. However, Shamrock was far from a top fighter. His last wins were at UFC 48 in 2004, and before that, at the end of 2001. :-)

It's hard to say which fighter is on top. Liddell fought Babalu, but Babalu went apeshit and threw his wrestling out the window, making it a standup fight. Ortiz fought Griffin and won a three round decision. He won a very convincing first round, but apparently injured his knee early in the fight. Who knows how this will go. If the odds are good enough on Tito, I'll put money on him, but if it's even, I'll stay out. :-)

Tito was dominant and Chuck not ha? Could it be because one faced Ken and one faced Babalu? Do I even have to explain the difference?

I know Babalu and Shamrock are completely different fighters, I was saying that Chuck's punches looked very sloppy. If Chuck is going to beat Tito he is going to need accurate, straight and tight punches.

What?! A rematch? In the UFC? Who'da thunk it?

Its like that in the big orgs.

Saku vs. Silva three times, Barnett vs. Cro-cop three times, Nogueira vs. Fedor three times, randleman vs. cro-cop twice, silva vs. cro-cop twice, saku vs. nino twice, coleman vs. fedor twice, etc etc etc....

Rematches are good for high level MMA!

In fact, every series should be a best of five, if not a best of three.

Chuck KO'd Randy Couture twice, first fighter to stop Jeremy Horn, and KO'd Babalu (who did fight like a moron.)

Tito will be a much better fighter this time, but I don't think he can stand with Chuck, and Chuck is the better wrestler.

I think Tito should play a jiu-jitsu game off of his back, as strange as that sounds.

tito playing guard games LMAO. youve lost your mind Grant. hes gonna lose no matter what he does barring a hail mary punch from hell, which i dont think tito can produce.

I don't see Liddell taking Tito down or Tito jumping in the guard.

by better wrestling im pretty sure he meant in a takedown defense scenario. obviously chuck is gonna beat his brains in standing.

By better wrestling I mean Chuck went farther than Tito did in college as far as divisions.

Tito was like 21 wrestling 18 year old kids in Ju Co.

He has a much better scramble, and Chuck does have good takedowns, which you don't normally get to see as Chuck prefers the standup game.

Even a hail mary punch from hell would not KO Chuck, Tito doesn't hit like that.

The only way I see anyone beating Chuck right now would be a technical striker with a decent chin who has a highly technical jiu-jitsu game and great takedowns.

You aren't going to keep Chuck on his back.
But you can TAKE his back in the scramble, and go for the choke.

You need the striking techniques to know footwork, where to hold your hands, and how to setup your takedown attempt, not to stand with Chuck, as there is the chance he will catch you and make you do the baby giraffe walk.

He isn't going to be kept down though, so you need the grappling techniques to get his back and slide the choke in, but even then nothing is guaranteed.

Your chin probably won't save you against Chuck.

You need movement, technique, and probably a gift from the gods in order to beat him in the UFC.

He is beatable, and there are a few fighters out there who I think would give him an amazing challenge (Shogun, Rogerio Nogueira, and even Wandy would still be highly entertaining.)

Tito hasn't shown he has the tools to beat Chuck Liddell just yet, but he is a fairly big name and the rematch should at least yield an entertaining match.

I know we make him out to be invincible, but watch him lose a decision to Rashad Evans next year or some gay crap like that... bwahaha.

That is a great analysis.

Expect it to be utterly plagiarized when it comes to the UFC 66 preview, Grant.

I honestly thought Babalu would have used that strategy...but instead he opted for the CHIN UP VITOR RUSH!!! maneuver, like something out of a Voltron cartoon or something... I have no idea...

I have to disagree with your analysis of the Babalu strategy - he appeared to rely on having his brain removed on the principle if he had no brain he couldn't be concussed.

Of course, this just meant he adopted the dumbest strategy EVER and Chucky bashed in a vacant skull.
