not bad not bad at all. 12k+ is a good number, with 66% of those sold.

true, I am just a little surprised as it looked almost 100% full when you look at the crowd shots for the last three fights. I do believe them, I guess I am just surprised also how many seats disappeared due to the configuration.

they did have some of the seats blocked off. some people were expecting this to fail. but it didnt. its very nice that pride has a chance to be successful in the states.

Yep, I just hope they cal follow it up in Feb with a card that can be both competative and entertaining. This was only the latter.

maybe they can setup the fight we all want to see so Wandy can try to fuck Chuck. :D

I'd love to see it, but that will not be happening. Dana would have to be out of his mind to let them promote it on their own card on his turf. It was a nice move and so totally puroresu of PRIDE to do though. lol If nothing else it will get people talking mma a lot more than they usually would.

And this is just the beginning. I expect and hope the next USA event in february to have more competitive matches on paper but other than that...and i'm also sure that it will be entertaining no matter what. To be honest i don't even remember the last PRIDE show i was dissappointed with at the end.

I just don't want to see any fights that might be for titles etc held in the US because of the differing rules. Shogun without the jumping stomps....Hunt without his atomic butt-flop etc.....it just aint PRIDE. loll
BTW,.....Real Deal scored an OFFICIAL #6 best selling (paid tickets) ever which is a decent start. http://boxing.nv.gov/MMAgates.htm

I don't think Dana would be out of his mind since both he and Chuck believe 100% that Chuck would win by KO in the first round.
Dana probably just wants a massive chunk of whatever revenue is generated as Chuck is his boy, which I don't think he will get.

a very big risk to take for a single pay-off though....and he will no doubt ask so much that it will be not worth it.
anyway, I have heard that about half of the tickets sold for this event (4000) were actually bought (not compt, but paid for) but the sponsoring casino. Not sure if there is any truth to it or not.

A lot of groups recieved comps but a lot of people helped DSE out. People frown upon comps but they are essential in the biz.
Also sponsers recieve comps too for chipping in with money
Also It wouldn't suprise me to hear that the casino bought tickets for high rollers and others as part of a package.

I have no probs with people getting comps and having a full arena for the ppv, I just worry if their real number of actually customers was closer to the 4000 mark.

i can tell you a lot of MMA types, sponsers managers etc got comps.
The casino probably had a stack too but like i said i dont see it as a bad thing short term
