Yeah....in general he isn`t my fav either, but I cannot bitch when he wins one via KO and another vs tap out, both in opening rounds. He earnt it.
He hasn`t earnt Saku's scalp though.....but it seems he will claim it on NYE if Saku doesn`t die training for it.

geez. saku should let his career stop here. he hasnt been in good shape. and yeah, as much as i dislike akiyama, he did do the job. so he deserves to be champ.

K-1 Hero's needs to get some better talent in. Can't take it quite seriously yet.

Hero's was produced so the Aki & Kidd could be champs at something.
I still wanna see Akiyama Vs. Sefo.
Then we'll see the KO in the first round the way it's meant to be.

<<< Secretly a big fan of Akiyama. I saw him at Higashiama zoo a few weeks ago and he was really nice. Exciting fighter too.

Well if Saku does fight on NYE I hope it will be a "pass the torch fight".

Only if you consider takedown, submission a KO :D.

Full props to Akiyama for taking that one. Damn he has improved tremendously and he has one hell of a killer instinct. Superb performance, especially in the face of pressure from Melvin.
The only thing Melvin would have needed is a little bit of patience. What the hell was that guy thinking going to the ground with a Judo maestro?!
The guy who scared me the most was Gesias Calvancanti. Bloody intense fellow for sure and he willingly engaged a Rickson trained fighter on the ground. So glad 'dirty' Rani got choked tho, wish JZ would have held the choke on for a bit longer to give Rani a taste of his own medicine. Expecting a lot from this guy and if he sticks around K-1, not many challengers are going to last long against him.

I agree with Aki being at one, but I have Kaneko being a close second.
