I stayed at a hotel last week. From the minibar I ate chocolate. And more chocolate. The damn thing about candy is you eat until you get sick, and then you want more anyway. And the same the day after, you just want it. Are there any good tricks that helps me kick this nasty habit I've started? :-)

One way that I felt helped me was when I would really get a craving, I would eat a healthier sweet snack like cereal (Honey Bunches of Oats, Honey Nut Cheerios, something sweetened with honey) instead of going for pure sugar like candy or chocolate. Also it helps if you don't buy and keep any candies at home at all. I find that to be a good deterrent to the habit, especially for lazy people like me. :)

Ofcourse eating more fruit also helps.

Yeah, I'm working hard on not bringing any candy home at all. And water is no problem, it's the only thing I drink. :-)

It takes 3-7 days for your body to no longer crave sugar. Give up ALL and ANY sugar for a week and you will be surprised how your cravings will go away :)

Oh damn, I didn't know at all that there were a number of days this went on. Cool! So, it means giving up refined sugar and sugars from fruit? :-)

Yes, all sugars. There are no number of days per say but it is proven (and I speak from experience) that the cravings either go away or at the very least you crave a lot less.

Sounds good to me. It's horrible otherwise because when the cravings kick in, it's hard to ignore. You eat something with plenty of sugar the one day so to the point you get physically sick of it and never gonna do it again. Still the next day the cravings kick in and you're back where you started. :-) I always eat real sugar also cause aspartame-derivates does weird stuff to me and my appetite. Just some sugarfree chewing gum can put me on eating everything on the planet afterwards without feeling full! Not kidding, we're talking several meals a day of gross proportions and it goes on for several days. LOL. I stay away from it. :-)
