I voted Remy Vs Gary as the best fight and JLB as MVP. I just thought Remy Vs Gary had the most sparks flying although it was one-sided and Remy did a killer job while I didn't expect him to be back yet.
JLB on the other hand won a surprisingly close match against the enormous Choi who is - hate it or love it - improving fast. Not even flinching by some of Choi's hard-ass punches isn't something I expected from JLB, so to me he is MVP. Honestly though, in my opinion Choi deserves a 2nd or 3rd place in the MVP listings.

I also voted for Remy vs Gary as best fight, one sided beating, but it was entertaining. I chose Slowinsky as MVP, he showed that he can be the next champion in 2 or 3 years. Good talent which K-1 at moment just need very badly.

I loved Glaube vs Paul.
Feitosa is imho the man to beat, and Slowinski is the fighter for the future.

Wow I obviously like Slowinski, and I was worried that this latest loss would make him go into obscurity. But everyone seems to agree that his fight vs Glaube was the best and that he has real potential, which is a good sign that he has made a good impression with his last fight.

Wow I obviously like Slowinski,
not to mention obviously dislike Sefo. lol
My personal vote if for BB being Glaube vs Paul due tothe improvements Glaube has made....plus the fact he is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet.
MVP is a toss up between Glaube and Chalid.

Nah not at all, although he isnt my favourite fighter based on his fight style, I still like him. I had him as my pick to win the 2005 Finals.
What gave you that idea anyways? I hope I dont make any harsh comments.

Hehe, also voted for Slowinsky vs Feitosa as best fight, this reminded me a lot of the old days fights, with the fighters just trading non stop, extremely technical. Also I'm a huge Feitosa fan, so it's great he's still consistently improving and placing himself up there in the top once and for all. Paul impressed the hell out of me in the Oceania event, I confess I didn't expect that much based solely on the Ignashov fight (the only I saw of him), but he has proved he's a true prospect, and better yet, seems to have the style japanese fighters admire (great courage, never seems bothered or worried), so I'm praying he'll have a bright future ahead.
For the MVP I reckon there were a lot of great personal efforts in this Elims (like Bonjasky showing he's back, Chalid beating Musashi at his own game,...), but I had to vote for LeBanner simply because of the incredible risk he took when everything said he couldn't fight, and for literally going for the fight the day of the event, barely prepard, and still making it to the GP. Thanks the gods he pulled it off.

I went with Remy because he was the most dominate. Once again we must take into accout that Gary wasn't conditioned for this. But Teechnically you can say that Remy won the fight in the first round.

just to play devils advocate here for a second I have a question for the LeBanner voters.
How is it he gets MVP when prior to the fight all but AKA were expecting him to KTFO Choi inside of 45 seconds, when Choi finally drags him 4 rounds? I'd have thought if either was impressive beyond expectations in that fight it was obviously Choi.
Not taking a thing away from LeBanner....he beat a guy that is huge and strong beyond believe, and showed to us the guy is not just the freak he appears to be.

As for the Choi thing, I think there are some misleading "views" and comments of that fight, sometimes it just sounds like it was a war where Choi went toe-to-toe with Jerome, fireworks, etc. when in fact it was a pretty "empty" fight (as is most of Choi's fights), with looooong periods of "what should I do next" from Jerome, while all Choi would do is stay firmly over his rear leg just waiting to throw a lead knee when Jerome tried to get in (which obviously made Jerome hesitate even more as time went by).
I voted for LeBanner for all his personal issues, it would be much wiser for him to simply not participate.
I don't want to sound harsh, but Choi CANNOT impress me, he only did what his limited skill allows him to, which is to keep everyone away with his incredible reach and overall passiveness. The fight took so long because there wasn't anything in ti the judges could really chew on, which is unreal when you are talking about Jerome LeBanner. In any other circunstance this would be called a boring fight, it was Choi waiting and LeBanner trying to figure out a way to get in.

Good reply. I guess you touched on the reason I thught JLB may get less votes from fighting fans in general due to:
The fight took so long because there wasn't anything in ti the judges could really chew on, which is unreal when you are talking about Jerome LeBanner.
I was a little concerned he may get a lot of shit for not KO'ing Choi the day or two after the fight so was a bit surprised at the support.

This is an interesting point for me. Thankfully we have AKA here letting us know what happening with him etc, but most fighters we don't know about. I think back to Remy last year and I shat on him post GP for being crap....then finding out he was going through a divorce and long term trainer break up made me regret being so criticle to some extent (though his fight against Sem WAS still crap).

*Best bout Remy vs Goodridge, imo best bout doesn't always mean "close fight" I just like what I saw from Remy, his flare and destroyer mentality seemed to be back, and I liked what I saw!
*MVP Feitosa he looked so in control
