Funny that two biggest question marks (Hoost/Challid) are fighting each other, other than that it looks awesome. Even without Aerts it's the best Finals card in years. I can only imagine that Aerts will be in one of the reserve matches and Hari could be in the other one.

I hope LeBanner and Feitosa will face off in the finals.

go Feitosa!
He will have a hard road to get to the finals,
but so will anyone else. Nice match ups!
Maybe Aerts and Sefo will still sneak in some how....

It's JLB's for the taking... Sem's jab might be a problem for him but I think his hands will eventually find their way to Sem's jaw and put him down.
It's JLB's year! I don't particularly care who JLB is up against in the finals just as long as he gets there and gets the job done.

Reserve fights made up of Sefo, Aerts, Badr, Musashi, Choi are probably what FEG will be wanting.
sportsnavi are much faster up this year than last it seems....

I'd like to see Aerts/Choi... I think Choi would get chopped down like a tree, well, hopefully.

Possibly, but Choi just went 4 rounds being lowkicked by LeBanner (who even the comentary team said most of the a-grade fighters say has very underrated lowkicks because everyone only notices his hands) without even limping much after the fight.

I have no idea who is going to win any fight.

It is true...going on recent performances ANY one of them could beat their first opponent. Picking a winner this year is harder than ever (and it was already nearly impossible).

Choi is very tough, I was actually really surprised by him this time. I thought he would fall late from low kicks but he withstood and took some solid low kicks. But I STILL think if anyone would be able to chop him down Aerts would.
Also, I thought JLB should've went low more he seemed like he just wanted to connect upstairs, maybe even a little frustrated that he couldn't. Don't know only saw it once. But I remember thinking to myself at one point that JLB might've been able to take him out if he worked low kicks more.

Im seeing a LeBanner vs Feitosa in the finals...
LeBanner beats Schilt...
Chalid upsets Hoost...
Feitosa KOs Karaev...
Leko beats Bonjasky...
LeBanner KOs Chalid...
Feitosa beats Leko...
LeBanner vs Feitosa... anything goes
Though Feitosa vs either Leko or Bonjasky should be interesting. He has the most interesting route it seems.

I think it's almost guaranteed that Sefo, Aerts, Musashi, Choi will appear in either a reserve fight or some sort of superfight...

Nice match ups!
Leko always talked about Bonjasky not being the "real" champion, so lets see how he will do against him.
I pick Glaube for 2006 champ.

Golden Glory blah blah blah. They are bitter that K-1 dumped them and Remy became champ.

So these are my thoughts:
JLB vs Schilt: Hard to call. Schilt certainly has momentum behind him and I'm picking him as the favourite but I'm sure Le Banner could win by knockout as well. Schilt's weakness in the past has been "well placed huge right punch" (see fights against Nortje, Ignashov), which Le Banner certainly has. Bregy tried that strategy but wasn't setting it up, and Schilt made him look like a fool. Maybe his defense on that has gotten better, we'll see. I see the winner of this match as the winner of the tournament.
Hoost vs Die Faust: I'll pick Arrab to win a workmanlike decision. Fujimoto was scoring well on Hoost and he's not on a World GP level in my estimation. Even if Mr. Perfect wins, I don't see him up for fighting twice.
Feitosa vs Karaev: What a match! This should have some fireworks if everything goes well. Feitosa could win by knockout. We'll see how he stands up to Ruslan's volume offense and if he gets flustered and falls back on that poor Kyokushin defense if Karaev gets aggressive. Feitosa doesn't have what I think are Ruslan's two biggest weaknesses: Big punching power and/or lowkicks, so I will pick Ruslan to win a hotly competitive fight, but I can see it going either way. I'm looking forward to it.
Leko vs Remy: This one could get technical and overly cautious. Bonjasky has really looked revitalized since changing gyms and he was far more aggressive and willing to take risks against Goodridge than he has been as of late, and I liked it a lot. Leko has looked sharp too, but he's coming off a rather lackluster fight. Karaev put him down twice in their fight, so I think some good knees or kicks from Remy could do the same. I'll pick Bonjasky in a fairly slow-paced decision since he has the momentum coming into the fight.
Schilt vs Alternate Bout Winner: Hard to say since I don't know who it will be. Probably Schilt regardless.
Karaev vs Bonjasky: I think Ruslan could swarm and fluster Bonjasky if it was the first fight of the night, but his balls-out style in close fights (see Maksutaj, Musashi) is going to take the wind out of his sails and Remy I don't anticipate working overly hard against Leko. Like I said before, Ruslan doesn't handle low kicks well and Bonjasky is exceptional at throwing them. I'll pick Bonjasky by a 30-27 decision.
Schilt vs Bonjasky: Schilt is something Remy just doesn't have an answer to. As a guy who relies on range and timing, Schilt is able to refuse to play that game and shut down anything Remy does offensively with teeps and jabs. I don't think he could ever beat the Hightower, barring an injury (which is not exactly a rarity at the WGP to be fair). Schilt by knockout, again.
So I guess I'm picking Schilt to repeat! We'll see how it plays out. I'm looking forward to it. Personally, war Karaev hehe.

1.I love and respect Jerome very much (is my favorite fighter),but Schilt is the favorite here (he is the champ)and this fight will be war ...and i hope Jerome will win this K1 WGP.
goooo Jerome !!!!
2.Hoost vs Chalid
Hoost seem to be very tired and slow ,he's to old ,Chlid will beat him.
3.Feitosa vs Karaev -Feitosa i think is the favorite in thi fight ,is tall ,he have the power ....i said Feitosa by ko or decison
4.Remy vs Leko -Remy lose in the past with Leko by decision ,so if Leko will fight like with Sefo he can win.
by the way ...a good card ...the best in the last 3-4 years.

Schilt vs Le Banner - I rather see this fight in the final, but okay. I think this fight is going to be tough for both. And I forsee the winner may be injured.
Jerome needs to hit him on the temple and score a knock down at least, if Jerome does not succeed, Schilt might out work him with his working ratio and score with jabs and real hard front kicks to the liver. Jerome cannot outkick Schilt.
I must say that Schilt's punching defense has increased a bit. He moved very good away against Bregy, so it may not be as simple so knock down Schilt.
Jerome is most dangerous in the first round and Schilt knows this, so if Schilt survives the 1st round he could win the fight, but one punch of Jerome and it might be over for Schilt. May the best man win.
My prediction: Schilt 3 round decesion, maybe an extra round decision.
Hoost vs Arrab - On paper this is a very easy win for Hoost. Hoost will kick Arab legs in pieces, but Hoost looked old and rusty in his fight with Fujimoto. And if Fujimoto can hit Hoost with punches, then Arrab can certainly do it. Although I doubt he can knock out Hoost.
My prediction: Hoost 3 round decision. (Although I'll be rooting for Arrab) BTW if Arrab wins he is too injured to continue, his legs will look like to colour of his Lamborghini.
Feitosa vs Karaev - IMHO Karaev is overrated by many among us. His strong point is his wild style, but at the same time that is his weakness. He has poor defence in general, especially against low kicks and punches.
Feitosa should keep him at bay and score point his his punches and low kickes. And then surprice him with some flashy kicks. However, Feitosa's weak spot is his boxing defence, he is vunerable for wild boxing combinations and uppercuts.
Karaev might score via this way, but I doubt he will put Feitosa in trouble with his shots.
Feitosa: easy win maybe 2 round TKO or decision.
Leko vs Bonjasky - This fight could be like a game of chess. Very technical, but Remy is on this way back and his better kicking skills, reach advantages and pretty good boxing defence. So I see not too many options for Leko to score points, but Bonjasky has plenty of options to score. Knees, kicks all over the place.
Decision: Bonjasky 3 round decesion
My picks to win this GP are: Schilt, Jerome, Bonjasky or Feitosa.
Much will depend if Schilt win over Jerome, if so then either Bonjasky and Feitosa don't stand a chance of winning it, as long as Schilt is in the tournament.
If Jerome beats Schilt I expect him to have a good chance, but somehow there seem to be a curse upon him and therefore he's can't win the GP. Although I hope he will!
Bonjasky and Feitosa are also big contenders for the title.
Leko I don't see him getting past 3 fighters in one night, he is small and his kicking is limited as well as his low kick defence. Somehow he takes unnessarry low kicks and as result of that, damage.
Karaev and Arrab aren't GP material yet.
Hoost is too old and to slow and won't beat 3 opponents in one night.
It would be best if Jerome or Feitosa win this tournament, it would be bad if a Dutchman wins it agains, but with 3 Dutchies it could very well be another Dutch GP winner.
