hahaha look at Hari
Jofeljoh!
28th September 2006, 04:28 PM
Guess Hari is still holding up his bad boy image. I was already wondering if he would have backed down since his Graham-debacle, but guess not. Now he'll have to prove himself once more he can act that way.

They took Goodridge right out of his vacations. I think it's safe to say nobody expects him to win, they just wanted someone who would go head in and fight hard under those pretty limiting circunstances.

He likes Goodridge. Frankly said I don't see how you can have anything against Bonjaski. He's a great ambassador for the sport with his great attidude. I'll go for Remy, will be good too see him in the finals.

I do not acknowledge that Hari is Dutch, he is Maroccan! It's a shame that he fights for Holland and even live in my country.
Please, what an asshole, I hope he breaks his jaw again. If it's fighter bashing remove this post I cannot longer see this motherf. (I drunk a few beers, although that's not an excuss) he is a disgrace for my country.

Maybe I'm a bit harsh, but why can't he just act with respect which is very common in Martial arts? I know Japanese people love this kind of behaveriour, but I certainly not. And that Badr thing represents our country. Shame! But no more word about Badr, I don't want to spend more energy on him.

Maybe the words are a bit harsh for usage on this forum, but in reality I use a lot worse language whenever I see his face, lol. Seriously though, I agree 100% with you there should always be respect, especially if you're a k-1 rookie that just recovered from a broken jaw. I don't care if it's just an "act" or he really means it. I hope Karaev will humiliate him. BTW I don't think the Japanese fans appreciate that kind of behaviour at all. It's the fighters that are good sports, show great spirit, put on a great show like Sefo or simply try their best to speak a few Japanese words in front of a crowd that are most popular.
Shinbone
28th September 2006, 08:15 PM
I shouldn't have used that kind of words on the forum, but I just came from a school thing with free beer.:P So you know what happens.

K1power
28th September 2006, 09:33 PM
I don't see it as a racist post. Shinbone's just ashamed that someone who doesn't deserve it (for obvious reasons) is representing his country and giving it a bad name. Off course we all know of the better examples like EVERY other Dutch flag fighter, but still...
Shinbone
28th September 2006, 09:40 PM
Thanks K-1 power, for the understanding.
AKA, I didn't mention any race, did I?
I shall explain the situation:
Every Morrocan has the Morrocan nationality even though they live abroad.
They cannot have for example Dutch nationality only, because the King of Morocco doesn't allow that, so every Moroccan living abroad has 2 nationalities.
Because of that, I rather see him fighting for Morroco than for Holland, I cannot see what is racist about that?
But I agree with you AKA we should talk about fighting not politics.
K1power
28th September 2006, 09:45 PM
Still, politics is something that - unfortunately - comes with the fighting game so it's only natural to discuss it from time to time and it's of GREAT IMPORTANCE to make clear that racism is not supported here and that your post wasn't racist either you were just making a point, period.
Shinbone
28th September 2006, 09:49 PM
yes, because I don't like to be called a racist by no one, becayse I'm NOT.
It is unfortunate that once someone discuss something about nationality, you immediatley being bombed as a racist.
I know I should have written it more carefully, but I had some beers. Still that is no excuss, like I said.

Alcohol makes some people aggressive... ;-)
Hari probably only does this to get a name and to open doors. Look where he is already. He entered the stage with a big KO win over Leko, get's KTFO by Graham and look who is fighting in the eliminations. It's a bit like Toney in boxing, but he's even worse. I don't like it and it doesn't suit K-1, but it works for him.
He has a very good style, defensive and offensive, he will make it far, but that would also be the case with his bulls hit!

Badr would have a LOT more fans and acknowledgment from the community if he had the nature/personality of say... Remy or even Gary Goodridge - A Gentleman and a Good natured Brute.
He's a talented fighter but his cocky, arrogant demeanor just rubs me up the wrong way and I cant help but cheer when he's lying horzontal in the ring. Im in awe of his skills but his attitude... ugh. I hate that in fighters of any level.

He's not only a disgrace to Dutch people but als to Marocan people. Because most of the people here in Holland think like. If 1 Morocan, Turkisch or whatever did a bad thing than rest of turkisch, marocan etc. are all the same.
I hate him as well. Who doesnt hate him?:) Maybe I should start thread and ask who doesnt like Hari:) It would be the threat with the most post ever. lol just kidding.

I don't hate Hari. But there are not many people I hate. I don't approve of his behavior, but I can also rationalize it knowing it's an act and in personal life it's just a normal, hard working guy. I won't say he's the most nice and sweet person in the world, but you know what I mean.
It's not that I need to defend his actions, and mostly they are stupid actions, but I also don't hate him, nor I'm wishing him bad injuries. He'll just have to put his money where his mouth is, and just do his best. If he gets demolished again, he'll get mocked anyway, that's his own punishment.

One thing is for sure, anyone talks about him, and any match is exciting as hell, with or without his talk, but more exciting with.

Badr doesn't give Holland a good name. That's for sure.
I don't want to speak in terms like hate. Hate is a big word, I don't like is attitude. That's all.
I think we should be carefull not to start a hate campaign against him, that not the way kakutougi is. I made some unbalanced remarks against Badr, and it is not good if others follow me.
Allthough i stick to my opinion that i rather see him not fighting for Holland anymore.

Shinbone didn't say nothing wrong... Each time this guy opens his mouth i got zero respect for this guy - WHY because he has Zero respect towards others.
I was looking at Osaka fighters interviews and he pretty much promised he's gonna pull something similar off at press conference what he did with Graham. so F!@# him.
Hopefully Ruslan keeps his cool and takes care of this guy at the fight night.

Gonna "recycle" a post I wrotte on another forum, isn't really into context, but anyways, just my point of view:
(* Regarding Hari beating both Aziz and Vitaly Akhramenko*)
"Well, Aziz injured his arm (previous injury) blocking knees, and I thought Vitaly would outmuscle Hari, but he just gassed midway through the fight (he never had a very good stamina...) and it was actually a sleeper.
I agree with everyone here, this is his act, he is just following Sapp's footsteps here, trying to sell his name, attract the mass fans' attention, "rising above the crowd" - it's the sacred expression: bad media attention is still media attention.
The problem is that he makes himself ridiculous for the regular fan, namely because he has achieved nothing in K-1, many have had "bad boy" remarks here and there (Jerome and Leko comes to mind), but they were in the game for years and "conquered" the right to direct comments on other people's careers, etc. Leko called Hoost "old" and that he should retire, but when they were about to face each other, so Hoost had the chance to agree or not in the ring (which he didn't, KOing Leko silly in the first round). I guess it's easier to shout your opinions around bashing everyone, specially when you are not going to face them in the ring anytime soon.
It's not like he is insulting me personaly or anything, I'm sure most of the elite guys just ignore this, but it is kinda annoying, and does steal attention from other deserving fighters there - for example, we have all seen the official ridiculous eating photo, but not the normal official photos from guys like Slowinsky or Breggy.
The fact for Hari, IMHO, is: he's is good, has talent, and the physical tools to make it in K1, specially nowadays when the huge stones are gone or going (Hug, Bernardo, Greco, Aerts, Hoost, etc), it has never been as open for newcomers as this, so he's also lucky. Still, one can't admire his personality (or personna, whatever), when every other newcomer have had the same need for attention and to stabilish themsleves in K1 (Carter, Karaev, Ignashov and Holm a few years back, for example), but all chose to be respectful and keep the K1 "aura" extremely high for so long.
He does goes for the KO (1 for him, 2 against) so it's probably this who will keep him around also, it's a TV show after all."

I love Ruslan's picture. It looks like he's saying Russian power bro!
Mago
29th September 2006, 02:18 AM
BTW, every time this kind of debate happens, a lot of people say something in the lines of "he's getting what he wanted, he's getting famous, you are all unconsciously raizing his status, wheter you like it or not", like we saw hundreds of times regarding Sapp.
Hari is visibly going for the shortcut here, this aproach is still very new to K1 because all fighters before the Sapp era were remarkable for their general respect for each other and the sport itself. I think many fans admire that healthy, glamurous environment that existed in K1 a few years ago and this kind of attitude Hari is representing here brings just vulgarity and needless bad image to a sport that is already hard enough to capture the general viewers eye without being labelled as "barbarian".
I sure miss the times when you could be sure everybody in the conference got along with each other and there was mutual respect in the air. Our friend Bob with his faked bursts of violent rampage in the media rooms, "vicious" stare downs, photo eating etc kinda damaged that atmosphere and brought a new dimension to K1 that most core fans dislike very much.

Although I couldn't really understand everything, I guess (and also agree very much) that Bonjasky is nothing but a true warrior himself, in all his tournement wins he suffered a LOT to conquer the titles (including his two GP wins) and absolutely gave his all. But i do understand WHAT do you mean by "warrior" here, and in this sense the chance of a brutal KO is always much higher when Gary is fighting. ;)
