From fightmag.net, words from his manager.
(I am the commercial agent: I take care of sponsors, seminars, site ,clothes etc... Not the fights/movies contracts)

Too lazy and tired to translate sorry.

Cheers for the news, and the updates up until now have been appreciated by all!!

I'm disappointed..even if I knew that it was almost impossible since more than 10 months! ( At K1 dynamite we already said to K1 that it will not be possible...then at Hero's, the at Amsterdam)
JLB-HCM was such an exciting matchup!

Sorry for the very late news, It was simply not possible to talk....

Muller's words are strange, he seems to imply LeBanner's done with K-1 and should concentrate on his acting career for the future. He talks about K-1 in the past tense and complains about the way FEG treated Jérôme, maybe I'm not in the best position to talk but I don't think JLB has been the worst treated K-1 fighter since the beginning of his career...

Hopefully it's just PR talk.

Could anyone help to do a brief translation ?

thanks.

While there's no native speaker translation, this is what I could come up with, using my rusty and bad french, it may contain errors, but just in case someone is curious:

- It says what many already know: that Jerome can't fight simply because he's in full filming process and they have made it known to K1 for a long time before the Elimination event.

- Next week Jerome will be part of 3 filming sessions for Asterix and the olympic games.

- Even after conversations between the manager and one of the film's producers (his friend), the insurance contract make it impossible for them to risk having Jerome injured and unable to perform the needed movie scenes, that they need to respect their commitment.

- I loose a lot of the meaning there and pick up at where he says Jerome has dedicated himself to K1 for many years, but a chance like this (the movie part) is a very big opportunity for him and that he cant let something like this pass.

- He says something like Jerome has fought for K1 for over a decade, but he, as manager, is thinking about what will be his situation in the long-term future - possibly implying that his professional future in K1 is near it's end (Jerome HAS stated his intentions of retiring soon) and other professional alternatives now have their part in his decisions (This could be wrong though).

It then says that after the "scandal" caused by the Jerome - Bonjasky decision issue, another "quake" hit K1 with both Jerome and Aerts (as well as the "star" Bob Sapp) out of this year's circuit, specially when all of those guys are so much apreciated by the japanese fans.

If JLB get the wild card he will be the must happy man on earth and so would I.
If no Final then I think that they wil put him on Dynamite, but today nothing is planned.....

Boobs is right, his movie scenes will end late in October ( around the 25)

JLB doesnt plan to retire soon. Simply he wants to follow Olivier Muller into this movie adventure because it can be his after K1 carreer.

He can be making movies from 40 to 99. But fighting in K-1, which is still his passion, will only be possible in the next couple of years. I understand he takes a break now and then, but still I think he should prefer to fight now instead of movies. Movies is new for him, and as would be the case for everyone, something new is exciting. But he will get used to it and maybe after a couple of years making movies ... he will regret that he cannot fight anymore ...

Just get a message from JLB and as ever I cant say anything but guess what....
That man is crazy, thats why he is such a good friend!

Nothing official, dont share if you want kakutougi to still have the exclusive news from JLB.... Coz I have no idea if K1, movie insurance and some important people are aware of this NEWS!!

Couldn't he be prossecuted if he doesn't obey the contract? I know it's not my business, but I would never advise him to fight if that's the case, it coud be extremely negative for him...

I hope JLB doesn't fight. He's a great fighter, but you have to prepare well for such a fight. That means you have to be focussed and well trained and he won't be any of these two factors if he fights. I don't want to see him turn up in very average shape like he did vs Bonjaski. People expect him to beat Choi, he better do in it style. If he turns up out of shape, not only his fans will be dissapointed but also JLB himself.

On the other hand it's a "chance" he has to get among the 8 last. Maybe he take advantage of it, unless he get's a wild card.

Jerome should just go to the insurance company and say "Look, I only need about 3 minutes of Insurance money, then I swear I will be out of the ring".

Anyways, I am glad that he is officially back now.

I have voice command. This means that what I say appears my PC screen right away. No need to type anymore!

To get back to the topic, I just don't like the idea of JLB taking this fight with no preparation, no focus, no concentration, a jetlag thus being terribly out of shape for such an important fight!
My reference to Aerts was to indicate that he could probably fight as well, but he chose not to, because of his shape.

I hope I'm wrong!

Because Sparkles, mentioned if Aerts could fight in a wheelchair, that was rethorical, so I asked a rethorical question myself.

Would be great if they could both compete and keep the great fightcard, but I would prefer that both would be in good shape. "May the best man win"
WE know what story is behind those fights, most people don't.
I don't like fights like Goodridge vs Williams 2, where one fighter didn't have the time to prepare properly.

I asked you if you could type without hands? You didn't answer my question.

I don't get where you are heading to but to answer your question, yes I can. I can type with my toes or even with my nose if I want to.

Hahaha, this is what I meant.

You asked a rethorical question, if Aerts could fight in a wheelchair. As repons to that I asked you a rethorical question, namely can you type without using your hands?

Your remark about Aerts fighting in a wheelchair doesn't make any sence, so does my question.

I wanted to show you that by asking a dumb question, just like your question about fighting in a wheelchair could be referred to as a 'dumb' question.

You see my point? No, hard feelings, brother.
