Well, I think the last two Dynamites Andy wanted in but didn`t get a fight....he is trying to get in any way possible now it seems.

yeah, I think like Boobs.
And I will like to see Souwer at Dynamite, he definitely deserve it! Even a freak matchup will make me happy.

I can't really say this is strnge. To me this is actually pretty smart. Whether he gets it are not is still debatable, but at least he gets people taking about who he will fight on NYE. Which gives him a shot at fighting on NYE.

If Genki vs Butterbean happened... then Andy vs Akebono isnt THAT unrealistic

What would get my attention is if a MAX fighter called out a serious heavyweight. Not an Overweight. Imagine Buakaw calling out Ignashov or Hoost or something along those lines. THAT would be interesting.

I can seriously picture Buakaw beating some heavyweights.

Ditto. He's far better than Kaoklai in many/all aspects, I'm sure he could do it.

Buakaw could handle some of the lighter K-1 heavies... like MacDonald and Leko. He'd stop Kaoklai for sure. He could give the present day Hoost a hell of a fight. And he'll embarrass Mr Inconsistent (Ignashov) judging by the latters recent fights.

Realistically - He needs to beat the likes of Farid Villaume, Sahin Kaas, Aalviar Lima and ultimately Yodsanklai Fairtex just to prove beyond ALL doubt that he is the current greatest Muay Thai and kickboxer on the planet.

You guys are forgetting one minor detail - one of Ignashov's legs carry more power than 5 Buakaw's combined, it's dangerous enough to absorb that kind of damage with the proper body mass, let alone when you can hardly make it to 70 kilos...

Presidente - as for the weight thing, from those names none of the fighters are from Buakaw's division, so it's hard to call.

The It's Showtime tournement showed clearly the difference between fighters who ARE inside the weight limit and fighters who MAKE it inside, but are truelly much heavier. Only the Shakuta fight was even in physical terms, all others had some pretty evident power difference, even though the all smallest guys won (Mes, Lima and Yakut), but arguably (and barely) in Limas and Yakut cases. I also remember a Buakaw fight (agaisnt Pique?) where the weight difference was obvious and although Baukaw outclassed him, he was eating some heavy blows and was forced to raise his own to the limit (risking serious injuries right before the GP).

So, the point is, if they agree to fight on 70 kg limit, then I guess this is doable, but that would happens solely to prove Buakaw's point of view, as all others would be fighting way under their optimal weight...

Note i said "realistically". Which meant I was moving away from the Buakaw vs HW ideas we were toying around with. Those fighters are in his weight which is why I mentioned them. The ammount of talent in that weight class is phenomenal and he's already gotten the scalps of most of the best. Wouldnt rate him against the HWs though... completely different story.

Funny how Ignashovs huge legs never made a difference against Kaoklai. But then again Buakaw doesnt run away as much so who knows what would happen ;)

I dunno Kaoklai has many qualities stylistically that made him well suited for taking on the heavyweights that I think its more than a matter of finding another guy who's better than him in MAX.

For one thing generally a fighter that stays in the pocket and likes to take one to give one will not be good for the heavyweights in this freak fantasy matchup. Also a fighter who's game is to overwhelm and overpower their opponents will have trouble in normal K-1 with its infinite weight limit. Kaoklai was smart and he had a style of marathon bicycling that made him ridiculously evasive while he threw on the points. Not to mention one of Kaoklai's less glorious tactics, slipping when cornered or trapped to get a reset. I'm not sure how many other middleweights would translate well to the HW scene not just in terms of movement and agility stylewise but also in terms of whether or not they are willing to resort to that in a fight. Some fighters won't get past their pride to fight that way.

Now of course even then its hard telling who can do it anyway. I mean obviously a middleweight wont apply their game the same way against a hw as they would against someone their own size. A few people I think can do it though, I'm not sure about Buakaw really. But I think Zam can do it. Funny isn't it? Not necessarily the best guy in MAX but I think power wise he is one of the few in comparable footing with the heavys and he has at least KOed Gurkan Ozkan who was actually a HW at one point.
