The last K-1 event in Sweden before the legislation takes effect.

So far the only announced fight is Por Pramuk Buakaw vs Ole Laursen.

Also announced is that it will be an 8-man tournament plus 3-4 superfights.

I say great!

and of course: www.k-1.se

So they'll definitely ban K-1 in Sweden? I thought Sweden was one of the most liberal countries in Europe.

Haha! Were more like themost left wing countries in the world, the government wants to intervene in all our decisions may it be which of the parents that should stay home with the childrens when they are sick or what kind of sport people want to do on their spare time...

Now at least we have got a new government that is more liberal so who knows maybe we will be able to arrange full contact events in the future again :)

So why didnt even "Moderaterna" vote against it?

Is Sweden trying to become like LA is in Demolition Man? When will they be installing the little boxes that fine you for swearing? ;)

The only party that voted against this stupid law was the communists (vänster partiet) and the enviromental (green) party (miljö partiet). The "liberal" (right-wing party sounds VERY wrong in english, and saying conservatives is not correct either) moderaterna, laid down their votes. There was not much rulings from any of the goverment parties of how their members were to vote. only the socialist voted through the law on party order, and that mostly because it was constructed by the party, and goverment, second in command.

Anyway, it will be good to see k-1 max live!
I expect the arrangers to pull out all the stops on this one.

I wouldnt call "Vänsterpartiet" communists but rather The left party, they mainly voted agianst the legislation because of the formulation in the proposition (too sloppy definition which will mean its hard to interpret when it comes to giving green light to events) rather than by ideologic divergence from the rest of the parlamentic groups. "Moderaterna" might be labelled as Liberal Conservatives even though they are far from the american conservatives. As far as the ruling goes the new ruling wont make a change. The legislation will be introduced from the 1st of January. But at least Persson (Ex primeminister) and Ringholm (ex vice primem. and minister of sport) are out but it will hardly make a difference.

Buakaw is as active as ever. He just wants to be in the ring. I like the Ole match up athough I feel it is going the way of the thai fighter.

Im a big fan of Ole... been in contact with him at one point. very nice guy I tell you...

But Buakaw is going to murder him in his own Scandanavian backyard...

Ole shouldve been in the 8-man thing rather. Brush up his skills before heading back to fight the big game

Well, although I wish all well for Ole too (being also a big fan) he does have his international status high enough to avoid tournements and head straight on for the other big guys. As for being "murdered" I know it's a just an expression, but I don't think it makes him justice, even if he looses (futhermore it's a 3 rounds fight, harder to get the engine rolling in time unless youre used to it) it's Buakaw we are talking about here, it would mean Sato, Kraus, Zambidis etc were all diminished by him, but we all know it isn't the case.

I do think he could get a warm up fight before facing BPP as he's a machine and is on a roll, but also getting an injury before this wouldn't be wise. so I don't know... He's on vacations right now as far as I know, so let the man enjoy his brake, hopefully he'll be 100% healthy and drop the weight gradually this time, I'm sure this will be an awesome fight!!!

This fight has been set for a long time now, so it shouldn't come as a surprise to Laursen. If he's decided not to have tune up fights before facing Buakaw, more power to him, I guess ...

Its just that Ole hasnt been up to par lately. More losses than wins in his last 7 or so fights. And Buakaw has been a monster of late... and has in the last year or two convincingly beaten fighters that have beaten/stopped Ole in the past (Jomhod, Souwer, Drago)

Im half expecting that Ole gets KOed in this one. He can get caught napping at times and Buakaw's one-punch-and-you're-down thing is all it takes.

I really hope Ole goes the distance and gives Buakaw a tough fight and proves his worth. But i seriously dont see him in a position to upset the champ. If he does... WOW. I wish him luck.

I agree. Looking at recent performances and current form, I think Buakaw will easily finish Laursen within the distance.
