Interesting to see Remy vs Aerts is still the closest fight.

definetly see Aerts outpointing Bonjasky to a decision easily in this one.

The one thing I see in Remys favor is he knows if he loses he will be back to regional GP's to qualify. That is a big motivator I think.
Aerts on the other hand will no doubt get to the Elims next year by invite if he doesn't win.
Both have been doing much better this year than last, so it will be a great fight. I think Aerts could well win the JD, but he is just as liable to injure himself on Remys boney legs.

Aerts has a long history with K-1 and still sells lots of tickets in Japan.
Remys history is no where near as long, he doesn't have the fan-base to move a lot of tickets, and I don't think his relationship is as tight with them as Aerts is. I don't think he has as many open doors as Aerts has.
Aerts has been there every year, and while he is huge in Japan and maybe Holland, him fighting in the US etc might not leave the same impression as a motivated Remy. I think they want to bump him down to regoinal so he can get some more specatular KO's to his name and show how exciting K-1 can be in either the US or maybe Oceania GP's.

Yes, its possible.
But now I hope Remy will win. I like Remy and Aerts, but i dont want to see JLB vs Hoost vs Aerts in final.

Some I voted racioanally, others the ones I really wanted to advance...
Jerome Lebanner will hopefully destroy Choi inside the 3 rounds, lets hope the big guys doesn't stall and hug him to death.
I REALLY wanted to see both Remy and Aerts in the GP... Although I can see a motivated Bonjasky outworking Aerts, this guy is just too damn good and experienced, I cannot picture him other than winning a solid decision here (by power shots here and there, then tying Remy up if he gets too close)... This is the most balanced fight, IMO.
Hoost will beat Fujimoto. The problem is that Fujimoto doesn't have anything Hoost hadn't seen before, and his wild boxing and non-sistematic kicking game won't be a problem for Hoost, and will leave plenty of space for him to score. Hoost has lost considerable power in recent years, but I can still se him kocking Fujimoto down with well placed hooks (probably even low kicks? But I don't think he'll power them too much, rather save his shins for the GP).
Voted for Bregy here for no other reason than for his kindness when replying my e-mail. :) He has worked a LOT in the last couple of years and is a totally different fighter than wehn he lost to Carter (his last big K1 fight?). Still, Semmy has solidified his game to such an extent that he became simply reliable, it will be VERY hard for Bregy to outscore the champ, specially with his reach. I can definetly see Semmy winning this by flood of punches and low kicks (maybe even a down with his knees?), but I'm also cheering for Bregy here, maybe his powershots will slow down the champ.
Voted for Musashi racioanally, Chalid lacks size and experience with the elite, Musashi is more than capable of working his occasional handful of body kicks or inside low kicks to score just enough points for a easy win, specially because Chalid is mainly a boxer, which combined with lack of size makes it very hard against a point kicker like Musahi...
Slowinsky is a machine and it won't be esay for Glaube, but I voted for the karateka mainly because I adore his technique, he's on a great roll, and showed he can more than survive powerful fighters (Carter, Goodridge x2). Slowinsky has the right attitude and the skills to make it big in K1, but he does have a somewhat static style that will allow for Feitosa to pick his cirurgic shots, so I can see him scoring fewer, but better strikes for a decision.
Also voted for Ruslan mostly because I think Badr shouldn't be here. We don't know how he is conditioned after months, but he sure as hell will be 1000% motivated to make people forget the humiliation he suffered after staging all the bad boy act and then getting brutally KOed by Peter Graham. Because K1 is a joke and a TV show, he didn't get any kind of discipline plenalty or suspension from physically attacking Peter on the prefight cerimony, rather he got a free ticket to the Semis... Ruslan is very capable, very skilled and has the right attitude, never shows fear. He has much better punches than Badr, but Hari can be pretty sneaky with his kicks and knees. Ruslan is known for his open style and lack of defense concerns, which can be everything Badr would want to score some vicious technique. Still, Ruslan is often underestimated and has done great so far in his K1 career (before you mention his 2 KOs against Sefo, remember Andy Hug's beginning), so I'm betting he'll avoid the most dangerous strikes and score some good combos with his nice boxing, for a decision.
Hopefully I was clear enough with my choices! I'm very anxious for this event.

K-1 usualy doesn't have any upsets at the elimination Osaka stage, so I'm going with the poll favourites.
Actually can anyone remember any major upset happend at the elimination event?

I'm actually picking Chalid over Musashi, i think that he will score a knockdown or two during the fight and take the decision? He better looks hard for the knockout because it's hard to beat Musashi on points ;)
I'm also picking Sefo over Leko. They're both hot right now but something tells me that Sefo is gonna put Leko to sleep for good. I actually have no preferences here as i like both a lot, so may the better win.
Karaev-Hari, this is probably the fight i'm looking for the most actually. It will be entertaining and somebody is gonna get KTFO hard in my opinion. I think that Hari may do the trick with a high kick...but he better watch out to Karaev's spinning back kicks, too.

I decided to pick a few upsets to make it interesting. I think that Breggy is a match up nightmare for Schilt so he can pull that one of if he is focused. I think that Slowinski can out work Glaube so as long as he doesn't get hit he is in good shape.
Hari over Ruslan wouldn't be that much of an upset to me, because despite the fact that Ruslan has had more K-1 success because of a longer K-1 career I still see Hari as the better fighter.
As for the rest, I got a hunch about Bonjaski and I think the rest are easy to choose. Though if there is an upset in the group its Leko over Sefo.
