He has said all of the Japanese fighters in MAX right now don`t have a chance to win the GP other than himself. No matter how hard they train, they wont go all the way.

He has also said the only fight he would be interested in for DYNAMITE is against Buakaw, however as the only training he is doing now is running, he said there is not enough time to prepare for him.

He says he wont be back until the Feb./spring event.

I'd tend to agree with him there, although I'd go one step further and say I don't see any japanese fighter, including him, winning max anytime soon. Buakaw and Andy are the top two and there have looked extremely dominant, I think it will be between those two next year.

I'm glad to see that Masato will keep on fighting. I'm sure that with the proper training and motivation he might be abel to beat Buakaw and I KNOW he can beat Souwer! I'm really looking forward to seeing Masato in the ring again!

Buakaw is just a friggin monster right now. There are so many fights in MAX for him that would be fun to see again. Him vs Kraus II could be an eye-opener with his new boxing skills.

Spoiler. Buakau beat Kraus the second time. 30-28 /Spoiler.

I agree that right now Buakaw would beat Masato BUT I think that if Masato trains hard enought he can take him.

Opps......I have never been the best with roman numerals. Add an extra "I" there and throw it in as a superfight.

I'll go back to trying to wake up with my coffee IV now.....

Do you know that on clocks the roman numeral for 4 is IIII?
haha.

Taking months off training kickboxing will certainly have a detrimental effect on his skills, bad move to be taking such a long break (I'm assuming he hasn't trained since the GP ended). I wonder if he'll fight Buakaw in February... that'd be a terrible move.

nobody is beating Buakaw anytime soon. he is the dominant fighter, established.

for who said buakaw vs yodsanklai, as of now under max rules im taking buakaw anytime. i dont think anyone can really challenge him at this point.

No the roman numeral for 4 is IV not IIII, but the fight would be their 3rd so it should read III. I think Hayato or Tatsuji or Satoro could win...... with the right path to the finals that is.

I know 4 is IV, but look at a roman numeral clock. It is IIII. Jupiter was the all powerful god and since j was i and u was v, the number 4 was also an abreviation for god. It freaked people out to have "1, 2, 3, god o'clock rock". There are other theories to explain why clocks don't use IV. Some are mathematical. Others suggest that it is to balance the face of the clock. One suggests that 4 and 6 would be mirror opposites.

Big Ben in London has IV. I heard that it is an exception because they have an I bell, a V bell and an X bell. I've never been to London so I can't say I've heard Big Ben.

I wish to heaven I knew why I hold so much trivia in my mind.

Back on topic.
Masato is the pillar that has been holding K-1 MAX off the ground from the beginning. It will be interesting to see how the fanbase (Japanese) will respond when his star status goes dim in the near future. Zambo went from favorite to win to unlikely to even qualify in the blink of an eye. K-1 MAX is indeed a fast sport.

Very true.
K1 Max level is growing up and Zambo has limited skills and size......+ others know him well now.

Well, a lot can happen in a year. Today's half-truth can be tomorrow's half-lie.

You could acknowledge contingency, sure, but simple probability is on Masato's side in terms of skill/style matches
