We were discussing last night about whether Bobish had gassed or Hunt's attack is what stopped Bobish.

While I am pretty sure it was a combination of both, I think the uppercut Hunt threw near the end of the fight was the beginning of the end.

Bobish appeared to be unable to even get up straight after that shot hit him (see Vovchanchyn vs. Goodridge II, GP 2000.)

Many props to Bobish, he did really good in this fight, and he just happened to get caught by a really hard shot, and then the knees.

Oh yeah, and Hunt is made out of titanium, so yeah. :)

Good matches.

While Bobish was apparently gassed, I can't tell whether his legs wouldn't carry him because of the punch or because they were too tired. My conclusion will have to be the uppercut hurt him, and he was gassed enough to get off balance and fall down. Had he had the strength to carry him, he could probably have slowed it down and shook off the effect (at the price of a few more punches, no doubt.) The knee then kinda took on the back of the head and that really screws the fighter up, like going from a clear signal to scrambled. Like you say, Bobish did good in what he does. Hunt looked like he really didn't know what to do on the ground; however, a heavy Bobish on top of you kinda means some restrictions. I'm still hoping to see the little more explosive Hunt in MMA. The guy that throws the punches with his whole body. I didn't check what his weight was this time contra when he fought Yoshida, whether he went up in weight to match with Bobish or not. He did real well against Yoshida, who's of course lighter than Bobish. Wonder who his next opponent will be? I'd probably find some sick amusement in seeing Hunt vs Fujita. Two ironmen.

When Bobish threw the knees on the ground you could see that he was wondering if it was smart to continue doing that but his corner yelled him into gassing himself with those knees. Wrestling wise Dan was better but with his shape you shouldn't consider yourself able to defeat Hunt or almost any fighter.

Uh, on the contrary, I don't think it was so much Bobish condition (if that's what you mean by shape) as opposed to mass (that sort of shape.)

A lot of times I would have thought Bobish would take Hunt's back, put the hooks in, and go for a choke... then I looked at the size of Bobish's arms and the fact that Hunt seemed to have traded any sort of neck for his uncanny ability to take punishment.

Both fighters did really well.

10 Minutes is a long time for anyone to fight without a break.

I think, while neither did it in spectacular fashion, they both got to show what they are good at.

Bobish got the takedown, and gnp`d well......Hunt simply is hard as rock.

Hunt got the strikes in early to cut, and then get the down. The scary/impressive part about Hunt was he showed no hesitation at all in throwing the soccer kick, or the drop knee to Bobishes head.....something Mirko took a long time to do.

Bobish needs to drop 30kg like he said he would......he would be one tough fucker then.

Hunt too, a little lighters with a bit more ring experience and groud work will also be great. I want to see Hunt fight someone of a medium level just so we get to see what he can do. Yoshida is to good on the ground for Hunt to look anything but amature, and Bobish too damned heavy to do anything with....

Well, Hunt did get that nice reversal at the start of their fight didn't he?
(Not that it put Yoshida in immediate danger.)

I thought he pounded fairly good for a while, it was one of the best fights on that card for sure (especially since I thought Yoshida would get the submission much faster)

I would love to see Hunt vs. Igor Vovhanchyn or Kazuyuki Fujita.

You are correct.....Hunt looked good gainst Yoshida, but I think it was more brut strength and survival instincts that skill.....and I want to see how much skill he has managed to develop.

Igor vs Hunt would rock!! A couple more fights under his belt and a fight against Fujita would bring the house down. Sad they are signed with competing orgs right now..
