But, his plan is to take all of the UFC belts, as Sakakibara said,” not just Silva alone, but Fedor, Yoshida, Fujita, and Gomi. I’m going to send these guys into the octagon to devour them first.” Starting this Fall, Sakakibara said Pride will start sending fighters to take the UFC titles, and then deliver the finishing blow at the MMA superbowl. Sakakibara stated, “If we take the titles, the UFC will have nowhere to run.”

He said that in 2003 too...hopefully they can take our belts away and just start running quality shows in Vegas and Cali.

He was doing good until he mentioned Yoshida.

I agree with Sak in terms of HW and possibly in terms of LHW. But I think he's dreaming if he thinks it'll be a walk in the park at the lower weights. Sure, Pride has talent but if he thinks Gomi is going to walk through the likes of Hughes, Penn and GSP, he's up for a rude frigging shock.
Wandy does great against sluggers and I think he'll win against Liddell. But he loses his effectiveness a lot once paired up against people who can close the distance, take him down and control him on the ground (Arona, Yoshida etc.) In UFC, they have Babalu, Tito (yes, I said it, Tito!!) who have all the tools and skills to nullify Wandy's offensive.
Hell, I'm actually seeing gaps in Fedor's ability against big Tim. Tim had a couple of bad runs against AA and Mir but he is no pushover...not by a long shot. He has the ability to go the distance and has a HUGE size advantage against Fedor. Unlike Zulu, he knows how to use it. And he does have the power behind the punch. And he trains with some of the world's best.
We'll have some great matchups for sure but Pride is in for some shocks....

AOW but if he thinks Gomi is going to walk through the likes of Hughes, Penn and GSP, he's up for a rude frigging shock.
Agreed. Any one of those 3 have a good chance at winning vs Gomi. It's a tough division with some of the best pound for pound in the sport. Gomi will have a tough time getting the title.

Yes. It's the paper, rock, scissors of MMA.

Fedor would formulate a game plan for taking Tim out early. Tim is a decent counter puncher and has power. But Fedor is just better at everything.
AOW gave me an idea. Maybe a way for Ricco to get back into the UFC. A big boy matchup between him and Zulu. If Ricco can take out Zulu, his stock would go up AND it might actually encourage him to train and lose weight.
NAHHHHHH! What am I sayin'?

Schilt is bigger and better in the stand up then Sylvia and he couldn`t do nothing to counter Fedor, so Sylvia can? Seriously i doubt that. Fedor by GnP victory tko RD 1.

Agreed, Fedor would submit Tim in a heartbeat.

I think Sakakibara may have been misquoted.
I believe he meant to say Giant Silva and Zuluzhino could devour anyone in UFC.
And they could.
